We recommend Villa Marina to fortysomething couples and older seeking Capri without the Piazzetta crowds. It's an address for late honeymoons, wellness retreats, travellers who prioritise the view and calm over Via Camerelle shopping. Families find their place here, but the clientele remains mostly adult and international.

Villa Marina occupies a contemporary 2000s building, white Mediterranean architecture with arcades and tiered terraces. Interiors in light travertin, white-lacquered woodwork, bespoke furniture in a pared-back neo-classical style. 3-metre ceilings, sliding glass doors, teak terraces. The whole comprises 37 rooms spread over four levels facing the sea.

The restaurant Il Giardino di Bacco serves honest Campanian cuisine, produce from the Sorrentine peninsula, fish from the gulf, ample Campanian wine list. Buffet breakfast on the panoramic terrace, room service until 23h. The pool bar offers light lunches from April to October. No signature chef, but careful execution without gastronomic pretensions.

Villa Marina stands on the Via Provinciale Marina Grande, 200 metres from the port of Marina Grande, away from the historic centre. The Piazzetta is ten minutes by water taxi or twenty minutes by local bus. Anacapri fifteen minutes by taxi, Grotta Azzurra twenty minutes by boat. The neighbourhood is residential and quiet, few shops on foot, the hotel operates self-contained with shuttle to the centre.
