Hotel Caesar Augustus
From
1,995 €
“Panoramic terrace over the Gulf of Naples, Ischia and Vesuvius, accessible 24/7.”
The Caesar Augustus has occupied the promontory of Anacapri for seven generations, and the view remains the main argument: Gulf of Naples, Vesuvius, cliffs of Capri below. The rooms blend period furniture and Carrara marble, some with private terraces overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The spa offers massages and treatments facing the open sea, the infinity pool overlooks the turquoise waters 300 metres below. We tested the restaurant La Terrazza di Lucullo: refined Campanian cuisine, attentive service, outdoor tables under lemon trees. From 1 995 € per night, it's the price of the position and family history. Access from Marina Grande requires 20 minutes of winding road, airport shuttle organised on request. An address for those seeking the Capri of the heights, far from the Piazzetta ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Caesar Augustus to couples seeking vertical romance and to travellers who prefer Anacapri to the bustle of Capri-town. It's an address for honeymoons, wedding anniversaries, contemplative retreats facing the open sea. Families find their place here thanks to the space and calm, but the clientele remains mostly adult, between 35 and 65 years old.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Caesar Augustus occupies a 19th-century villa enlarged over the decades, perched on the heights of Anacapri. Classic Mediterranean architecture: white facades, barrel vaults, Vietri majolica floors, Carrara marble columns. Common areas open onto successive terraces planted with lemon trees and bougainvillea. Rooms between 28 and 45 m², all with sea or garden views, period furniture mixed with contemporary pieces.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
One main table, La Terrazza di Lucullo, open lunch and dinner from April to October. Campanian cuisine directed by chef Gennaro Buonocore: fresh pasta, fish from the gulf, island vegetables, wine list focused on Campania. Breakfast served on the terrace facing Vesuvius, continental buffet and hot dishes à la carte. Room service available 24/7, simplified menu after 10pm.
