Intro

In Ibiza, the scent of pine and salt dominates as soon as one leaves the port, and the best addresses play precisely that card rather than that of the strobe and champagne. We have put the selection through the filter of real calm, not marketing: of the ten hotels retained, all rated 9/10, half are located more than twenty minutes from the clubs. Some assume the opposite compromise, and we say so too.

Ca Na Xica - Hotel & Spa

A century-old Ibizan finca transformed into a spa retreat, far from the clubs and the coast.

Ca Na Xica - Hotel & Spa occupies an old Ibizan finca in the heart of the countryside, away from the coastal club bustle. The whitewashed walls, raw wooden beams and local stone floors evoke the island's traditional architecture. The outdoor pool, surrounded by an olive and pine garden, offers a rare calm for an Ibizan 5-star. The spa completes the offering with a wellness centre and fitness room, designed for slow-paced stays. The rooms, air-conditioned and connected with free wifi, also come in family formats. Expect from 742,70 € per night, a rate that reflects the exclusivity of the place rather than direct sea access. Here, no sea view or rooftop, but an address designed for retreat, with airport shuttle and free private parking included 😌

  • Score 9,5/10 on 218 Booking reviews, rare for a rural 5★.
  • Airport shuttle included, useful in the absence of nearby public transport.
  • Free private parking on site, rare at this level.

El Somni Ibiza Dream Hotel by Grupotel

*A five-star beach resort set on the quietest bay in northern Ibiza, far from the city's bustle.*

El Somni Ibiza Dream Hotel by Grupotel occupies the bay of Cala San Vicente, on the north coast of the island, far from the clubs and paparazzi of the Marina. We enter through a luminous lobby, light floor, large bay windows that frame the sea directly. The pool stretches facing the sand, sun loungers aligned without being tight. The spa and fitness centre occupy part of the ground floor, discreet, without marketing fanfare. The rooms remain sober, designed for natural light rather than for Instagram. The rate starts at 441,82 € per night, consistent for a five-star beachfront with this score of 9,4/10 on nearly 2 900 reviews. We lose in nocturnal animation, but we gain in calm, a compromise assumed rather than a flaw 😌.

  • Direct access to Cala Sant Vicent beach, without crossing a road
  • Score of 9,4/10 on Booking, backed by 2 878 reviews
  • Airport shuttle available, useful for Ibiza without a hired car

Mirador de Dalt Vila-Relais & Chateaux

A Relais & Chateaux boutique-hotel lodged within the ramparts of Dalt Vila, Ibiza's old town listed as UNESCO.

The Mirador de Dalt Vila-Relais & Chateaux occupies a house in the citadel, within the very walls of Ibiza's old town. We climb there via cobbled alleys, on foot, before discovering a tiny but suspended pool facing the port. The view extends to the moored boats and the neighbouring cathedral, especially at sunset. The rooms remain few in number, the address plays the boutique-hotel card rather than that of a large complex. Count on 591 € per night, a logical rate for a Relais & Chateaux member in the full historic heart. The free parking pleasantly surprises in such a dense pedestrian zone. A true pied-à-terre to explore Dalt Vila without ever taking the car again 😌

What makes this hotel unique

  • Relais & Chateaux member, sole address of its kind in Dalt Vila
  • Unique pool with plunging view over Ibiza's port
  • Set in the fortified old town, listed UNESCO
  • Free parking on site, rare in this pedestrian quarter
  • Guest rating 9,4/10 on 264 Booking reviews

OKU Ibiza

The calm and design retreat of Ibiza, away from the party but never far from it.

OKU Ibiza settles in the quiet neighbourhood of Cap Martinet, a stone's throw from the historic centre. The architecture plays the minimalist card, white walls, light wood, large bay windows that let in the Mediterranean light. Two pools are divided between the adult area and the livelier one, each with teak sun loungers. The spa and fitness centre occupy a dedicated wing, designed to extend the lounging beyond the beach. Count from 513 € per night for a room, a rate that rises quickly in high season. Free Wi-Fi, private parking and airport shuttle are part of the included services, a real plus on an island where summer traffic complicates journeys. The restaurant and room service cover the essentials, without claiming starred gastronomy 😌.

What makes this hotel unique

  • Booking score of 9.1/10 from 1393 reviews, a rare score for Ibiza.
  • Two distinct pools, one reserved for the adult atmosphere.
  • Spa and fitness centre integrated into the hotel.
  • Airport shuttle included, useful given the island's summer traffic.
  • Private and free parking, rare in high season on Ibiza.

Grand Hotel Palladium Santa Eulalia del Rio

A large family beach hotel on the east coast of Ibiza, far from the agitation of the city and San Antonio.

The Grand Hotel Palladium Santa Eulalia del Rio stretches along the beach, on the east coast of Ibiza, far from the bustle of the city and San Antonio. We arrive via a palm-lined avenue, white facade, contemporary lines without excess. The 569 reviews collected on Booking praise above all the room/service ratio, with a score of 9.1/10. Two pools are divided between an active basin and a calmer area, both with views over the Mediterranean. The spa and fitness centre complete the wellness offering, without pretensions of a signature grand spa. Rates start at 372 € per night, consistent for a 5-star beach hotel designed for families. The real differentiator remains the direct access to the beach of Santa Eulalia, a stretch of coast still relatively preserved from mass tourism 😌.

What makes this hotel unique

  • Score of 9.1/10 from 569 Booking reviews, rare in this beach segment.
  • Two distinct pools, one livelier, the other calmer.
  • Direct access to the beach of Santa Eulalia del Rio.
  • Spa and fitness centre accessible on site.
  • Free private parking, a real asset in Ibiza in high season.

NH Collection Ibiza

An urban and functional hotel set on the seafront of Eivissa, against the festive image of the island.

The NH Collection Ibiza lines up along the Passeig Joan Carles I, the boulevard that runs beside the port of Eivissa. The façade is contemporary, without flourishes, typical of NH chain addresses. We quickly sense that the hotel targets a business and family clientele rather than the crowds of Ibiza Town. The pool, the sole seaside concession, opens onto a terrace rather than a frontal sea view. The 200 Booking reviews validate a solid score of 9.1/10, consistent with standardised yet reliable service. Count on 484 € per night in low season, a rate that rises quickly in summer. This is not a charming boutique hotel, but a practical and well-maintained base to explore Dalt Vila on foot 😌.

What makes this hotel unique

  • Booking score of 9.1/10 from 200 reviews, above the local 5★ average
  • Direct airport shuttle, about 15 minutes from the centre
  • Private parking on site, a rare asset in central Eivissa
  • Family rooms available, suited to group stays
  • Free Wi-Fi throughout the property, not only in the rooms

One Ibiza Suites

A simple beach resort address, between two pools and the sand, without the artifices of mondain Ibiza.

One Ibiza Suites settles directly on the beachfront, with no road to cross to reach the sand. We like this immediate proximity to the water, rare on an island where most addresses play the hill or hinterland card. The two pools share the outdoor space, one calmer, the other clearly designed for families. The fitness centre remains modest but functional, we do not expect a palace spa here. The restaurant handles meals on site, practical for evenings without the desire to go out. Count from 543 € per night, a rate that remains high for an establishment whose standing is more high-end beach resort than historic luxury. The score of 9/10 on 909 reviews confirms that the beach/pools/service ratio clearly hits the mark 😌.

What makes this hotel unique

  • Direct access to the beach, without crossing a road
  • Two outdoor pools, one adapted for families
  • Airport shuttle available on request
  • Private parking on site, rare at this proximity to the coast
  • 909 Booking reviews for an average of 9/10

Destino Ibiza

The 5★ that swaps seaside calm for direct access to Ibiza's nightlife scene.

The Destino Five Ibiza plays the electro card unapologetically on this east coast of the island, a stone's throw from Talamanca. Free access to the Pacha Club included in the stay, an unbeatable argument for those who come to dance rather than meditate. The unique pool stretches out facing the bay, surrounded by sun loungers and attentive room service. The rooms, air-conditioned and connected to free Wi-Fi, remain sober, without surprise or particular frills. Count on 655,20 € per night, a rate that rises quickly in high summer season. Airport shuttle and free parking simplify arrival, a real plus on an island where renting a car is expensive. Here, luxury is measured less by marbles than by direct access to the Ibicenca nightlife scene 😌

What makes this hotel unique

  • Access included to the Pacha Club, with no supplement mentioned in the rate
  • Booking score of 9/10 from 523 reviews, solid for the category
  • Airport shuttle available, useful on an island without a metro
  • Free parking on site, rare in Ibiza resorts
  • Family rooms and accessible equipment for disabled guests offered

7Pines Resort Ibiza, part of Destination by Hyatt

*A five-star perched on Ibiza's wild north coast, far from the bustle of the island's south.*

7Pines Resort Ibiza, part of Destination by Hyatt occupies a cliff on the north coast, far from the bustle of Playa d'en Bossa and Ibiza Town. One arrives via a winding road lined with pines, the sea appearing in glimpses between the branches. The two infinity pools seem suspended above the Mediterranean, the water blending with the horizon at sunset. The building remains low and spread out, light stone and raw wood, designed not to compete with the landscape. The rating of 9/10 from 416 reviews confirms attentive service, even if the isolation may disconcert those hoping for the island's nightlife. Count on from 696,80 € per night, a rate that gives access to the on-site spa and fitness room. Free parking and pet welcome add a rare flexibility for a 5-star in this category 😌.

What makes this hotel unique

  • Rating 9/10 from 416 Booking reviews, among the highest rated in Ibiza.
  • Two infinity pools facing the Mediterranean.
  • Spa and complete wellness centre included on site.
  • Private and free parking, rare on the north coast.
  • Pets admitted, family rooms available.

Six Senses Ibiza

A five-star at the north of Ibiza that bets on the silence of the bay rather than on the agitation of the island.

Six Senses Ibiza settles on the north façade of the island, far from the tumult of Marina Botafoch. We head down directly to the beach, without crossing a road or paying for parking. The unique pool faces the open sea, a long blue silhouette placed on the terrace. Count on 2 136 € per night, a rate that places the address among the most expensive on the island, without Booking detailing a signature suite or precise view. The spa and fitness centre occupies a central place in the offering, consistent with the wellness positioning of the Six Senses brand. Family rooms and disabled access broaden the usual public of the ultra-luxury segment. A detail that surprises for a 5-star: domestic animals are admitted, and parking remains free 😌.

What makes this hotel unique

  • Direct access to the beach, without crossing a road
  • Unique outdoor pool facing the sea
  • Spa and fitness centre on site
  • Airport shuttle available, free parking included
  • Family rooms and equipment for disabled guests

Everything to know

The complete guide to Ibiza

Why Ibiza deserves a five-star stay, far from the party clichés

The image that sticks to Ibiza (the clubs, the afters, the yachts in Talamanca) tells only half the story of the island. The other half, harder to sell in one photo, lies in the lands of Santa Gertrudis, the coves of the north around Cala Xarraca, or the ramparts of Dalt Vila listed as UNESCO. It is there that our ten addresses are concentrated: centenary fincas transformed into spas, five-stars set on still sparsely built bays, a boutique-hotel housed in the old town.

We have deliberately excluded establishments that rely on agitation as a commercial argument, except one: the Destino Five Ibiza, which claims direct access to Pacha and assumes this choice without detour. The rest of the selection, from the Six Senses Ibiza to the 7Pines Resort, builds its luxury on distance from the tumult rather than proximity.

When to book: seasonality, crowds and rates

High season in Ibiza runs from June to September, with a peak in attendance and prices in July-August. The most sought-after hotels, especially those in the north such as Six Senses or 7Pines, are fully booked several months in advance for these dates. May, June, September and October offer an already warm sea, softer light at the end of the day, and rates that drop noticeably compared to the height of summer.

| Period | Attendance | Atmosphere | Average rate per night (5★) | |---|---|---| | May-June | Moderate | Calm, island waking up | 350-550 € | | July-August | Very high | Saturated, prices at their highest | 700-1200 € | | September-October | Moderate to low | Warm sea, low light | 300-500 € | | November-April | Low | Many establishments closed | Variable, open hotels rare |

Winter remains a grey area for the luxury traveller: a good part of the addresses, including some in our selection, close from November to April for renovation. It is better to check opening dates before booking an off-season stay.

Where to stay: Dalt Vila, the wild north coast or the east facade

Ibiza is not limited to a single seafront. The choice of district determines the atmosphere of the stay as much as that of the hotel itself.

| Area | Atmosphere | Hotel(s) in the selection | Good for | |---|---|---| | Dalt Vila (old town) | Historic, cobbled streets | Mirador de Dalt Vila | Couples, heritage lovers | | North coast (Xarraca, Portinatx) | Wild, low density | Six Senses, 7Pines | Silence, spa, disconnection | | Cala San Vicente | Seaside, residential | El Somni Ibiza Dream Hotel | Calm beach, families | | Cap Martinet / Jesús | Residential, close to town | OKU Ibiza, Destino Five | Balance calm/nightlife access | | Santa Eulalia (Los Lirios) | Family seaside | Grand Hotel Palladium | Families, direct beach | | Eivissa seafront | Urban, marina | NH Collection Ibiza | Short stays, business | | Inland lands (Santa Gertrudis) | Rural, isolated | Ca Na Xica Hotel & Spa | Spa retreat, replenishment |

A few pointers to decide faster:

  • First visit: Dalt Vila or the Eivissa seafront, to walk to the monuments without a car.
  • Spa and disconnection stay: the north coast, between Six Senses and 7Pines, far from everything except silence.
  • Family with children: Santa Eulalia or Cala San Vicente, shallow beaches and equipped hotels.
  • Desire for nightlife access without sleeping in town: Cap Martinet, ten minutes' drive from the clubs.
Ibiza

Two Ibizas that coexist: the night and the silence of the coves

One can visit Ibiza without ever crossing a club, and that is precisely what the majority of the selected addresses offer. The 7Pines Resort, perched near Cala Xarraca, and the Six Senses Ibiza, lower on the same north coast, bet on a sea almost empty of boats and sunsets without music in the background. The OKU Ibiza, at Cap Martinet, plays an intermediary role: close enough to the centre for an evening in town, secluded enough not to suffer it upon waking.

Conversely, the Destino Five Ibiza claims direct entry to Pacha as a selling point. It is a coherent choice for those who come precisely for that, less so for those seeking the calm mentioned above. We mention it because the selection must reflect the two real faces of the island, not only the one that flatters the idea of retreat 😌

Typical budget for a five-star stay in Ibiza

Rates vary greatly according to season and area, but a three-night stay in a five-star hotel generally follows this spending structure:

  • Accommodation: between 900 € and 3600 € for three nights depending on the season and the hotel.
  • Dining: allow 60 to 150 € per person and per dinner in the hotel tables or nearby.
  • Transfers: taxi or private vehicle from the airport, 25 to 60 € depending on the area (up to 40 minutes for the north coast).
  • Spa and treatments: 90 to 250 € for a one-hour treatment in spas such as Six Senses or Ca Na Xica.
  • Car rental: recommended for the north coast or inland areas, 40 to 90 € per day in season.

Hotels on the Eivissa seafront, such as the NH Collection Ibiza, make it possible to limit transport costs since everything is done on foot. Those in the north require a larger car or private transfer budget.

What you need to know before booking

A few practical points that avoid unpleasant surprises:

  • Check opening dates: several addresses close in low season, sometimes from November to April.
  • Book the car in advance: demand exceeds supply in July-August, including for hotels that offer a rental service.
  • Anticipate distances: the north coast (Six Senses, 7Pines) is 35-45 minutes from the airport, compared to 10-20 minutes for Cap Martinet or Ibiza town.
  • Compare child policies: some establishments such as the Grand Hotel Palladium or One Ibiza Suites are designed for families, others, more intimate, are less so.
  • Do not confuse calm and isolation: a hotel far from the clubs is not necessarily far from everything, several addresses in the north remain less than 15 minutes from a village with restaurants.

Ibiza airport remains the single point of passage, and its proximity to the town (less than ten minutes) simplifies late arrivals, frequent in high season on European charter flights.

Frequently asked questions

What travellers ask us most

What is the best time for a five-star stay in Ibiza?+

We recommend May-June or September-October: the sea is already warm, the light softer, and the rates of luxury hotels drop markedly compared to July-August. The strict high season remains more animated but also more expensive and denser on the roads.

Do we need to hire a car to enjoy the hotels in the north of the island?+

Yes, for addresses like Six Senses or 7Pines Resort, located near Cala Xarraca 35-45 minutes from the airport. Without a vehicle, we depend on private transfers organised by the hotel, more costly but bookable directly at reception.

Do the luxury hotels in Ibiza stay open all year?+

No, part of them close between November and April for works or seasonal maintenance, notably on the north coast. We advise checking the opening dates directly with the hotel before booking a stay outside summer.

What budget to plan for three nights in a five-star hotel in Ibiza?+

Count between 900 € and 3600 € for accommodation depending on the season and the area, to which are added 60 to 150 € per dinner and 25 to 60 € for airport transfers. Rates rise sharply in July-August, a period to avoid for those seeking good value for money.

Which neighbourhood to choose for a first stay in Ibiza?+

Dalt Vila or the seafront of Eivissa allow everything to be done on foot, between UNESCO ramparts and marina. For a second visit more turned towards calm, the north coast around Cala Xarraca offers a very different face of the island.

Are the hotels in the selection suitable for families with children?+

Some yes, like the Grand Hotel Palladium in Santa Eulalia or One Ibiza Suites, designed for families with shallow beaches and dedicated facilities. Others, more intimate like Ca Na Xica or the Mirador de Dalt Vila, suit couples or stays without children better.

Can we stay near the clubs without giving up calm at night?+

The Destino Five Ibiza or the OKU Ibiza, both in Cap Martinet, offer a compromise: ten minutes by road from the big clubs like Pacha, while remaining in a quiet residential neighbourhood. It is the best balance of the selection for this profile.
