The historic palace of Capri, the one that has seen Cocteau, Churchill and the 1950s jet-set pass through, still run by the same family since 1845.
Hotel Quisisana
From
1,940 €
“Two pools including one heated on the roof terrace, rare in Capri where space is measured by the square metre.”
The Hotel Quisisana has occupied the centre of Capri since 1845, a stone’s throw from the Piazzetta and Via Camerelle. We sleep in rooms with Carrara marble floors, classic Neapolitan furniture, travertine bathrooms. The two pools (one heated on the roof) offer unobstructed views of the Faraglioni and the gulf of Naples. The 600 m² spa offers signature treatments based on Amalfi Coast citrus fruits. The Booking score of 9.5/10 from 111 reviews reflects the consistency of the service, delivered by a stable team for years. From 1 940 € per night, it’s the reference palace on the island, the one we return to. ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Quisisana to travellers who know Capri and seek the historic palace, not the design address of the moment. It’s a hotel for couples in their fifties and above, classic honeymoons, summer reunions with long-time friends. Families find their place here (family rooms available), but the clientele remains mostly adult, loyal, often returning every summer.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The current building dates from 1845, enlarged in 1905 then renovated in stages until 2018. Typical white neoclassical Capri architecture, colonnaded façade, cascading terraces. Interiors with Carrara marble floors, white-and-gold lacquered woodwork, Murano glass chandeliers. The 150 rooms vary between 28 and 85 m², all different, some with private terraces overlooking the gardens or the sea.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Three tables at the Quisisana: the Colombaia for buffet breakfast and Mediterranean dinners, the Quisi Bar for light lunches on the terrace, the Rendez-Vous for evening cocktails. The cooking is classic Neapolitan, Campanian produce, wine list focused on Lacryma Christi and Fiano whites. Breakfast service on the terrace remains an iconic moment, book the day before for a table with a view.
