A 5★ beach hotel in Lapad that bets everything on family comfort and the Adriatic view, without palace pretension.
Royal Ariston Hotel
From
277.336 €
“Seaside pool with loungers facing the Elaphite Islands, accessible directly from the ground-floor rooms.”
The Royal Ariston Hotel occupies Lapad bay, three kilometres from Dubrovnik's historic centre, in a quiet residential neighbourhood lined with pines. We slept in a standard 28 m² room with balcony over the Adriatic, light marble floor, contemporary furniture in white lacquered wood, firm bedding. The outdoor pool leads directly onto the pebble beach, with sun loungers and parasols included. The spa offers classic massages and treatments, nothing revolutionary but effective after a day of sightseeing. From 277 € per night, it's good value for Dubrovnik in high season, especially with children. The service is smiling, the atmosphere relaxed, we are far from the formalism of Croatian palaces in the old town.
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Royal Ariston to families who want the beach and Dubrovnik without choosing, on a controlled budget for a 5★. Thirtysomething and fortysomething couples find a good base to explore Dalmatia, far from the tourist bustle of Pile. It is also a practical address for travellers who prioritise modern comfort and sea views over the historic charm of hotels within the walls.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Royal Ariston is a contemporary six-storey building constructed in the 2000s, standard Croatian seaside architecture with white façade and continuous balconies. Bright interiors in beige marble, light woodwork, sober designer furniture without any particular signature. The rooms measure between 28 and 55 m², all with balcony or terrace, sliding glass bays, travertine bathrooms. The scale remains human, 168 rooms spread over six levels, fast lifts, fluid circulation even in peak season.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The main restaurant serves morning and evening buffets, correct Mediterranean cuisine without sparkle, well-executed grilled fish and seasonal risottos. Breakfast offers Dalmatian charcuterie, local cheeses, fresh pastries, pressed juices, egg station to order. The pool bar prepares cocktails and salads until 22h in summer. No gastronomic table, but room service operates 24/7 with a reduced menu of hot dishes and sandwiches.
