Rixos Premium Dubrovnik

We recommend the Rixos to families with children (kids club up to 16 years, dedicated pool) and to couples who want to switch off without watching the bill. The all-inclusive formula appeals to travellers used to Mediterranean resorts, less so to those seeking the intimacy of a guesthouse. Groups of friends and newlyweds appreciate the private beach and included water activities (kayak, paddle, snorkelling).

The main building dates from 2015, contemporary tiered architecture following the natural slope towards the sea. White façades punctuated by wooden balconies, large picture windows, 12-metre-high lobby with Murano glass chandelier. Interiors by a Istanbul studio: light marbles, walnut woodwork, textiles in sand and turquoise tones. The 309 rooms and suites are spread over seven floors, all with terrace or balcony, some with direct pool access from the ground floor.

Four restaurants covered by the all-inclusive formula: Mediterraneo (international buffet, sea-view terrace), Lalezar (Turkish cuisine, table service), Turquoise (grilled fish, feet in the sand), Rixy Club (family pizzeria). The Dubrovnik Restaurant offers a Croatian gastronomic menu at extra cost (Adriatic lobster, Istrian truffles). Five bars including a rooftop open until midnight, premium cocktails included. Breakfast served from 7am to 11am, homemade pastries and made-to-order egg station.

The Rixos stands on the Lapad peninsula, a residential and seaside district west of Dubrovnik. The fortified old town is 3.5 km away (free hotel shuttle, 10-minute taxi, public bus line 6). Lapad beach is 800 metres on foot, Gruž port 2 km for ferries to the Elaphite islands. Dubrovnik airport is 25 km (30 minutes by car), private transfer arranged by the hotel on request. The neighbourhood is quiet in the evening, with a few fish restaurants and artisan ice-cream shops in the surrounding streets.
