Positano's pink palace, the one that invented Mediterranean luxury before the word became marketing.
Le Sirenuse
From
2,629 €
“Infinity pool facing the Tre Calli, open from April to October, water heated to 28°C.”
Le Sirenuse has held the Positano cliff since 1951, an 18th-century patrician villa transformed by the Sersale family. We sleep in rooms with Vietri majolica tiles, Frette linen, Carrara marble bathrooms, windows framing the vertical ochre houses and the Tyrrhenian blue. The infinity pool remains one of the most photographed on the Amalfi Coast, water at 28°C from April to October, teak sun loungers facing the Tre Calli. Service is polished, discreet, never obsequious. The Booking score of 9.7/10 from 174 reviews reflects rare consistency in this category. From 2 629 € a night, a rate that places Le Sirenuse among Italy's five priciest addresses, justified by the view, location, history. We recommend booking six months ahead for superior rooms, a year for terrace suites ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend Le Sirenuse to couples in their forties and up seeking the iconic without the ostentation, second-wedding honeymoons, wedding anniversaries, post-career retreats. It's an address for travellers who have already done Capri, Portofino, Saint-Tropez, and want the original rather than the copy. Families find their place in June and September, but the clientele remains mostly adult, American and Northern European, loyal for decades.
The building
Architecture and interiors
Le Sirenuse occupies an 18th-century patrician villa, transformed into a hotel in 1951 by the marquise Anna Sersale, still family-owned. Vertical architecture typical of Positano, salmon-pink facade, cascading terraces, barrel vaults, Vietri majolica floors. Mediterranean interiors without folklore, antique furniture, local ceramics, library of 400 books on southern Italy. Rooms between 28 and 85 m², all different, some with private terrace, others with wraparound balcony.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The restaurant La Sponda has held a Michelin star since 2022, Campanian cuisine by chef Gennaro Russo, candlelit dinner under a vault of 400 candles lit every evening. The bar Franco offers cocktails and light cuisine facing the sea, open noon and evening from April to October. Breakfast served on the terrace or in room, local produce, homemade pastries, freshly squeezed citrus juices. The Champagne Bar in the lobby stays open until midnight, 60 references on the list.
