Perched on the Positano cliff, a 18-room boutique hotel where the Mediterranean view justifies the rate alone.
Hotel Punta Regina
From
1,445.85 €
“Panoramic terrace with infinity pool facing the three Li Galli islands, former hideout of Noureev.”
L'Hotel Punta Regina occupies a rocky promontory above via Pasitea, the vertical artery that traverses Positano. We reach the rooms by lift carved into the rock, the private terraces all overlook the Gulf of Salerno. The floors are in Vietri ceramics, the bathrooms in white Carrara marble, light enters through floor-to-ceiling windows. The infinity pool blends into the horizon, water at 28°C from May to October. Service is discreet, well-oiled, never intrusive. From 1 446 € per night, we pay for the view and tranquillity, not the volume of the rooms (some measure 22 m²). An address for those who come to Positano to contemplate, not to go out ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend Punta Regina to thirty-something couples and older seeking isolation without forgoing comfort. It's an address for late honeymoons, wedding anniversaries, post-burnout retreats. Families with young children will find the stair access (despite the lift) constraining, the clientele remains mostly adult and quiet.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The building dates from the 1960s, built in tiers into the cliff to maximise the views. Classic Mediterranean architecture: lime-washed white facades, blue shutters, tile roofs. Interiors renovated in 2018: white marble, lime-washed wood, linen and cotton fabrics. Rooms measure between 22 and 35 m², offset by terraces of 15 to 25 m². Glass lift descending six levels to the pool.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Breakfast served on the terrace or in room: house focaccia, buffalo ricotta, coast citrus, Kimbo coffee. No on-site restaurant, but room service via three Positano trattorias (delivery until 10pm). The pool bar serves spritz, Campanian wines, seafood platters in the afternoon. For dinner, walk down to the centre (15 minutes) or book the private shuttle.
