The Woodward occupies a 1901 building entirely rebuilt, opened three years ago on quai Wilson. We enter a hall of white marble veined grey, polished bronze chandeliers, five-metre ceiling height. The 26 rooms and suites (from 45 to 280 m²) display a contemporary neoclassical style, ivory-lacquered woodwork, Calacatta bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows on the lake or old town. Service is impeccable, discreet, never obsequious, calibrated for a clientele that knows the codes. From 2 727 € the night, it's the Genevan palace rate, justified by the rarity (26 keys only) and the level of service. The Guerlain spa, indoor pool, gastronomic restaurant Le Jardinier (one Michelin star) and bar L'Atelier count among the city's best addresses. It's an address for fortysomething couples and up, gastronomic weekends, wellness escapes, discreet business meetings in a contemporary setting. Families find their place (spacious suites, attentive service), but the clientele remains mostly adult, international, accustomed to Auberge Resorts.

Architecture and interiors
The Woodward occupies a Belle Époque 1901 building entirely rebuilt between 2018 and 2021, listed façade preserved, interiors redone from scratch. Contemporary neoclassical architecture by Pierre-Yves Rochon: Carrara white marble, lacquered woodwork, polished bronze, herringbone French oak parquet. Ceiling heights of 3.5 to 5 metres by floor, original restored sash windows. The scale is intimate (26 keys), the atmosphere that of a private house rather than a grand hotel.

Two tables at Woodward: Le Jardinier (1 Michelin star), vegetal cuisine and Swiss products by Alain Verzeroli, lunch and dinner, book ten days ahead. L'Atelier, cocktail bar with small sharing menu (tartares, oysters, caviar), open until 1am, 250 spirits references. Breakfast served in room or at Jardinier, continental buffet and hot menu, local products (Lavaux honey, Wolfisberg pastries). Room service runs 24/7, reduced menu after midnight.

The Woodward stands on quai Wilson, right bank of the Léman, two minutes' walk from pont du Mont-Blanc and old town. Pâquis district, posh and lively, luxury shops rue du Rhône five minutes away, Cornavin station ten minutes by taxi. Geneva airport 15 minutes (free shuttle offered by hotel). The lake is at the door, jet d'eau visible from south-facing rooms, quays promenade ideal for running or walking. Residential quarter after 8pm, restaurants and bars clustered around place de Longemalle.
