The rooms feature custom libraries, solid oak parquet, headboards upholstered in midnight blue velvet, light diffused by linen lampshades. The indoor pool under a glass roof diffuses a milky clarity, the spa offers massages with Douro vine oils. Architecture and interiors
The hotel occupies a neoclassical building from the early 20th century, grey granite façade, wrought-iron balconies, 3.20-metre ceiling height. Interiors redesigned in 2018 by Lisbon studio Nini Andrade Silva: walnut woodwork, Portuguese marbles (Estremoz, Vigária), brushed brass lighting. Rooms range from 22 to 45 m², all different, some with a balcony overlooking the street. The entrance hall lines floor-to-ceiling shelving, patinated leather club armchairs, black marble fireplace.
