The Mellah Hotel occupies a renovated traditional house in Hay Salam, the neighbourhood of the old Jewish Mellah, away from the Jemaa el-Fna circuits. We slept in rooms with generous volumes, white tadelakt on the walls, cedar woodwork, light dimmed by moucharabiehs. The central pool structures the patio, surrounded by banquettes in blue and white zellige. Service remains discreet, attentive without being intrusive, the team speaks French and English fluently. From 281 € per night, a coherent rate for this level of finish and this guest score. We recommend for a calm stay, far from the bustle of Gueliz and the north medina ✨

Who is it for?

Who we recommend it to

We recommend The Mellah to couples in their thirties and up seeking an authentic Marrakech without the folklore. It's an address for discreet honeymoons, off-grid weekends, travellers who prefer the intimacy of a small hotel to the services of a palace. History buffs will appreciate the Mellah neighbourhood, less crowded than the classic medina.

The building

Architecture and interiors

Renovated traditional Moroccan house in a sleek contemporary style. White tadelakt on the walls, carved cedar woodwork, moucharabiehs filtering the patio light. The central patio organises the volumes around the pool, with arcaded galleries on two levels. Rooms between 25 and 40 m², ceiling height 3.5 metres, floors in zellige or polished concrete depending on the spaces.

At the table

Restaurants, bar, service

On-site restaurant offering contemporary Moroccan cuisine, with service in the patio or on the terrace depending on the season. Continental breakfast served until 11am, with house pastries and fresh-squeezed orange juice. Short but well-chosen wine list, focus on Moroccan vintages from Meknès and Essaouira. Room service available all day, simplified menu after 10pm.
