PL Place Boutique Hôtel & Restaurant

We recommend PL Place to thirty-something and forty-something couples fleeing the saturated medina and preferring the silence of the palm grove. It's an address for discreet honeymoons, wellness retreats, unplugged weekends without entertainment or group clientele. Families with children find their place thanks to the family rooms, but the atmosphere remains adult and hushed.

The building is a recent single-storey construction, pared-back neo-Moorish architecture with interior patios. Polished tadelakt walls, carved cedar ceilings, zellige floors in the communal areas. The rooms overlook the garden or the pool, standard ceiling height (2.80 m approx), generous volumes without being palatial. The ensemble counts a maximum of ten rooms, intimate scale justifying the boutique-hotel label.

The restaurant occupies a vaulted room open onto the terrace, revisited Moroccan cuisine with market produce. We tested the six-course tasting menu, careful execution, modern presentation without falling into fusion. Continental breakfast served until 11am, room service available from 7am to 10pm. No celebrity signature chef, but a stable brigade mastering the classics (tajine, pastilla) and offering interesting variations.

PL Place is located on route de Fès, in the Ennakhil district, north palm grove of Marrakech. The medina is 15 minutes by car, place Jemaa el-Fna 20 minutes depending on traffic. No shops in immediate proximity, the hotel operates self-sufficiently, airport shuttle included. The district is residential, private villas and a few luxury riads, total silence after sunset. Marrakech-Menara Airport 20 minutes, railway station 25 minutes.
