Faro Capo Spartivento occupies a navigation lighthouse built in 1856, listed as a historic monument, at the end of a three-kilometre road that leads nowhere else. We sleep in one of the seven suites fitted out in the former keepers' quarters, white stone walls, barrel vaults, terracotta floor. The infinity pool overlooks the rocks and the turquoise sea, the lighthouse still emits its light signal at night. The restaurant serves contemporary Sardinian cuisine, produce from local fishermen, dinner facing the sunset. From 923,94 € per night, airport transfer included from Cagliari (1h15 drive). It is an address for those seeking absolute isolation, no village nearby, no equipped beach, just the cape, the wind, the light 🌊

Who is it for?

Who we recommend it to

We recommend the Faro to couples who flee resorts, seek silence, accept the absence of a sandy beach and nightlife. It is an address for contemplative honeymoons, writing retreats, radical disconnections. Families with young children will find the place too isolated, socialites will get bored.

The building

Architecture and interiors

The lighthouse dates from 1856, octagonal tower of 11 metres, still managed by the Italian navy. The seven suites occupy the former keepers' houses, restored in 2017: stone vaults, exposed beams, period terracotta floor. Sober contemporary furniture, white linen, driftwood, tadelakt bathrooms. Each suite between 35 and 50 m², private terraces facing the open sea.

At the table

Restaurants, bar, service

The restaurant occupies the keepers' common room, large solid-wood table, bay windows on three sides. Sardinian cuisine led by a local chef: grilled octopus, fregola with clams, Sardinian lamb, pecorino cheeses. Wine list focused on island appellations, Vermentino and Cannonau. Breakfast served on the terrace, produce from the Teulada market. Room service available, yet we come here to dine facing the sunset.
