“Rooftop pool with clear view over the roofs of Neve Tzedek district and the Mediterranean in the distance.”
L'Elkonin Tel-Aviv occupies a renovated building on rue Lilienblum, nocturnal artery of the historic centre, three blocks from Rothschild Boulevard. The rooms play contemporary sobriety, sand tones and polished concrete, firm bedding, bathrooms in grey terrazzo. The rooftop hosts a narrow but sufficient pool, teak loungers, bar open until midnight in summer. The spa offers massages and hammam, nothing spectacular but effective after a day at the beach. We tested the restaurant, honest Mediterranean cuisine without marked signature, the Israeli breakfast remains the best moment. Dès 343 € the night, coherent rate for a well-located MGallery, without ostentation. Attentive service, mixed business and leisure clientele, relaxed atmosphere typical of Tel-Aviv ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Elkonin to travellers who come for Tel-Aviv itself, not for a seaside resort. Typical profile: thirty-something couples, solo business travellers who want to go out at night, art lovers and local culinary scene enthusiasts. Families find their place thanks to family rooms, but the atmosphere remains urban, not balneaire.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The hotel occupies a renovated five-storey building, revisited Bauhaus architecture, white facade with sliding shutters. Interiors signed by a local studio, raw concrete softened by light wood, brushed brass lighting, geometric patterned tiles in common areas. Rooms between 22 and 35 m², standard ceiling height, double-glazed windows effective against street noise. The rooftop adds a technical floor with pool and bar, metal structure and composite decking.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The hotel restaurant serves a Mediterranean fusion menu, revisited houmous, grilled fish, vegetables roasted with zaatar, without signature chef. The Israeli breakfast deserves the detour: shakshuka, grilled halloumi, cucumber-tomato salad, local pastries, pressed juices. The rooftop bar offers classic cocktails and local Goldstar beers, relaxed atmosphere from 18h. Room service available until 23h, reduced but correct menu.
