The historic palace of Tel Aviv that has held the Herbert Samuel promenade since 1983, facing the Mediterranean.
Carlton Tel Aviv Hotel – Luxury on the Beach
From
327.263 €
“Rooftop pool with 180° sea view, open all year round, teak deckchairs and cocktail service until 22h.”
The Carlton Tel Aviv Hotel occupies a ten-storey building on the Herbert Samuel promenade, feet in the sand of Frishman beach. We tested a sea-view room on the seventh floor: Jerusalem stone balcony, sliding glass bay, direct view over the orange parasols and the waves. The 800 m² spa in the basement offers hammam, Finnish sauna and massage cabins, the subdued lighting compensates for the absence of natural light. The rooftop pool remains the real asset: heated water, aligned deckchairs facing the sunset, pressed juice bar. From 327 € per night, a rate justified by the location and the facilities. We recommend for an urban beach stay, not for the deco innovation ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Carlton to families who want the beach without leaving the city, and to couples in their forties on a long weekend between museums and sea bathing. The family rooms and the secure pool attract an Israeli and European clientele with children, especially in summer. Business travellers appreciate the reliable Wi-Fi connection and the proximity to the financial district of Rothschild Boulevard.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Carlton occupies a 1983 modernist building, renovated in stages until 2019. White concrete and tinted glass facade, typical of Israeli seaside architecture of the 80s. Beige marble hall, Murano crystal chandeliers, classic furniture without particular boldness. The rooms measure 28 to 45 m², light parquet, upholstered headboards, travertine bathrooms.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The Blue Sky Restaurant on the ground floor serves a buffet breakfast (Israeli salads, shakshuka, smoked salmon) and Mediterranean dinners in the evening, correct cuisine without a star. The Lobby Bar offers cocktails and tapas until midnight, frequented by a local clientele on Thursday evenings. The Rooftop Pool Bar serves pressed juices, salads and grills from 10h to 22h in summer, reduced menu in winter. 24h/24 room service, standard international menu.
