Atlantica Holiday Village Rhodes

We recommend the Atlantica to families with children aged three to fifteen seeking a five-star without the hustle of all-inclusive resorts. Thirtysomething couples also find it suits them thanks to the adults' pool and spa, but the DNA remains family-oriented. It's an address for comfortable beach holidays, not for an intimate honeymoon.

Contemporary village-club architecture, white two-storey buildings spread across a pine-and-olive park. Public areas blend white marble, driftwood and linen textiles, abundant natural light thanks to picture windows. Rooms between 28 and 45 m² depending on categories, all with balcony or terrace. The whole dates from the 2000s, progressively renovated, impeccable maintenance.

The main restaurant serves Mediterranean buffets morning and evening, decent Greek produce (feta, Kalamata olives, local fish) without gourmet pretensions. An à la carte restaurant offers grills and mezze on the terrace, open June to September. The adults' pool bar serves cocktails and light snacks until 11pm. Hearty breakfast, fresh juices and house pastries, attentive service.

Kolymbia lies on Rhodes's east coast, twenty-five kilometres from the international airport and fifteen from the medieval old town. The village is residential, a few tavernas and shops within five minutes' walk, sand-and-pebble beach 800 metres away. The hotel runs shuttles to Lindos (twenty kilometres) and Rhodes town three times a week. Quiet sector, ideal for exploring without the buzz of northern resorts.
