Rhodes beach resort that banks on scale (four pools, 313 rooms) rather than intimacy.
Akti Imperial Deluxe Resort & Spa Dolce by Wyndham

“Four tiered pools facing the Aegean Sea, including a 50-metre Olympic one open all season.”
L'Akti Imperial Deluxe Resort & Spa occupies a seafront at Ixia, six kilometres south of Rhodes old town. We are in a resort of considerable size, white architecture stepped down the slope, cascading terraces towards the pebble beach. The rooms are classic, private balconies, light wood furniture, beige marble bathrooms. The spa and four pools (including an Olympic one) justify the stay, especially off-season when crowds thin out. From 565 € per night, pricing coherent for a five-star of this scale in Greece. The beach is directly accessible, sun loungers and parasols provided, but the shoreline remains pebbly (pack water shoes). We recommend for families and minimum three-night wellness stays, not for a discreet romantic weekend.
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Akti Imperial to families seeking a structured resort with multiple pools and direct beach access, as well as to fortysomething couples after a wellness stay sans social whirl. It's an address for those prioritising facilities (spa, gym, pool choice) over boutique intimacy. Travellers seeking historic charm or cutting-edge design will pass it by.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The resort unfolds in white Mediterranean architecture across several levels, tiered buildings following the natural slope to the sea. Classic Greek five-star interiors: beige marble floors, light woodwork, furniture without standout design. Communal spaces favour open volumes, terraces and outdoor walkways. The scale is that of a large resort (313 rooms), not a boutique hotel.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The resort has several dining outlets: main restaurant with buffet formula, poolside Greek taverna, beach bar. No signature chef or fine-dining standout, the offering remains classic resort with rotating themed buffets. Breakfast taken on the sea-view terrace, generous continental choice. Room service available, standard menu.
