Boscolo Lyon Hotel & Spa

We recommend the Boscolo to travellers who place the spa at the centre of their stay, thirty-something couples on a detox weekend or executives on the move who want to swim before dinner. Families find their place thanks to family rooms and the absence of a rigid dress code. The clientele remains mainly adult, between business and leisure, with peak occupancy on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The Boscolo Lyon occupies a six-storey Second Empire building, stone facade with continuous balconies and original ironwork. The interior was completely redone in the 2010s: white marble hall, contemporary chandeliers, thick carpets in the corridors. The rooms range from 22 to 45 m², ceiling height of 3.20 m, double-glazed windows that insulate well from the quai. The spa area in the basement benefits from vaulted ceilings in exposed stone, indirect lighting, hushed atmosphere.

The Boscolo restaurant offers a revisited Lyonnaise brasserie menu, open midday and evening, with terrace service on the quai side on fine days. The continental buffet breakfast is held in a glazed room on the ground floor, correct choice without being spectacular, fresh pastries, eggs to order. Room service operates from 6h30 to 23h, reduced menu but careful execution. No signature chef or starred table, but an honest offering for a city palace.

The Boscolo stands on quai Jules Courmont, right bank of the Saône, a five-minute walk from place Bellecour and Vieux Lyon. The Cordeliers district is central, commercial during the day, quiet after 20h, with métro Bellecour 400 metres away. Gare Part-Dieu is ten minutes by taxi, Saint-Exupéry airport thirty minutes by Rhônexpress then métro. We are in the heart of the Lyon golden triangle, between presqu'île and Fourvière, ideal for radiating on foot towards the bouchons and museums.
