18th-century Provençal bastide converted into a luxury relais, ten minutes from Aix centre, in a residential district where cicadas cover the sound of cars.

“Heated pool in a garden enclosed by dry-stone walls, with Fermob loungers and ecru-canvas parasols, open April to October.”
Villa Gallici Hôtel & Spa occupies an 18th-century bastide on avenue de la Violette, away from Aix's historic centre. We cross a wrought-iron gate, then a Mediterranean garden planted with cypresses, oleanders, century-old olive trees. The 22 rooms mix antique terracotta tiles, Rubelli fabrics, sourced Provençal furniture, bathrooms in Cassis stone. The spa offers Carita treatments, hammam, sauna, massage cabins in a vaulted annex. The gastronomic table serves revisited Provençal cuisine under a wisteria arbour, from 1 032 € per night. The service is attentive without being stiff, the clientele international and discreet. An address for those seeking intimate luxury rather than monumental palace ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend Villa Gallici to couples in their forties and beyond seeking a Provençal weekend without the Lubéron bustle. An address for wedding anniversaries, gastronomic escapes, extended thermal cures in Aix. Families find their place, yet the atmosphere stays hushed, suited to stays for two.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The bastide dates from the 18th century, ochre façade with blue shutters, canal-tile roof, staircase in Rognes stone. Interiors refurbished in the 1990s with respect for Provençal style: original terracotta tiles, exposed beams, stone fireplaces, furniture sourced from Aix and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue dealers. Rooms measure 25 to 45 m², all different, some with private terrace overlooking the garden. The main building holds 18 rooms, four suites occupy an independent annex.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The gastronomic restaurant serves under a wisteria arbour April to October, in the vaulted room the rest of the year. Seasonal Provençal menu: violet artichokes from Provence, red mullet, Sisteron lamb, goat cheeses from the Lubéron. Continental breakfast served on the terrace or in-room, with house jams and pastries from an Aix baker. The bar offers aperitifs and digestifs in a salon with fireplace, wine list focused on Provence and Rhône.
