1,455.281 €
“Only 5★ hotel installed within the Tivoli amusement park enclosure, with direct access to the illuminated gardens.”
The Nimb Hotel occupies an oriental pavilion from 1909 in the Tivoli gardens, a stone's throw from the central station. Just seventeen rooms, all different, dark wood panelling, deep velvets, marble bathrooms. Sleeping above a centenary amusement park, windows open onto illuminated rides and summer concerts. The 400 m² spa burrows under the historic foundations, pool tiled with blue mosaics, hammam in Turkish marble. The gastronomic table has held two Michelin stars since 2017, chef Guillaume Siegler at the helm. Rates from 1 455 € the night, unique position in Copenhagen, discreet clientele in the know. ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Nimb to travellers seeking a confidential address in Copenhagen, far from the chain hotels on the waterfront. It's a hotel for fortysomething couples and up, gastronomic weekends, discreet anniversaries, fans of reinvented historic architecture. Families with children appreciate the proximity to Tivoli, but the intimate scale (17 rooms) and the rate steer towards an affluent adult clientele.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The building dates from 1909, built by architect Knud Arne-Petersen in a neo-Moorish style to house the kitchens and salons of Tivoli park. Red brick facade, bulbous turrets, oriental arcades, coloured stained glass. Interiors redone in 2008 by architect Jens Aagreen: smoked oak woodwork, patinated leathers, Persian rugs, Bohemian crystal chandeliers. The rooms occupy the piano nobile, 3.80 m ceiling height, herringbone parquet, original marble fireplaces preserved.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Three tables at the Nimb: the two Michelin-star gastronomic restaurant (chef Guillaume Siegler, technical Nordic cuisine, 12-course tasting menu), the Brasserie for classic Danish lunches (smørrebrød, smoked fish), the Vinotek for natural wines and small plates. The Nimb Roof bar serves cocktails and champagnes on the terrace with views over the Tivoli gardens, open May to September. Breakfast served in room or in the Moorish salon, organic Danish products, house pastries.
