The Danish Guldsmeden palace version, where Nordic eco-luxury meets the Balinese spa right in the heart of Copenhagen.
Manon Les Suites Guldsmeden
From
414.164 €
“Indoor pool and Balinese spa with hammam in a 5★ bio-certified hotel 400 metres from the Tivoli Gardens.”
Manon Les Suites Guldsmeden occupies a neoclassical building in Vesterbro, a stone's throw from Peblinge Lake. We step into a world where raw Danish wood converses with Balinese textiles, king-size beds in recycled teak, bathrooms in natural stone. The basement spa unfolds 200 m² of heated pools, steam hammam, massage cabins with organic oils. The indoor pool stays open until 22h, dim lighting, eucalyptus scent. From 414 € a night, we pay as much for the ecological commitment (Green Key certification, Organic Spa cosmetics) as for the location between Strøget and the lakes. The restaurant serves Nordic plant-based cuisine at breakfast, less convincing in the evening. We come for the spa and the ethics, not for the table ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend Manon Les Suites to thirty-something couples sensitive to environmental impact, seeking a spa weekend without leaving the city centre. It's an address for travellers who prioritise well-being over ostentatious standing, conscious honeymoons, urban detox retreats. Families will appreciate the spacious suites and pet-friendly policy, but the atmosphere remains resolutely adult after 20h.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The hotel occupies a 1900s tenement building, ochre façade with typical Vesterbro bourgeois bow-windows. Interiors redesigned in 2018 by the Guldsmeden agency: bleached oak parquet, natural lime walls, untreated solid wood furniture. The 84 suites are spread over six levels, 3.20-metre ceilings, original sash windows. The basement spa retains the original cellar's brick vaults, converted into relaxation alcoves.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The Guldsmeden restaurant serves a remarkable Nordic plant-based breakfast: Juno sourdough, house granola, organic Arla cheeses, smoked Bornholm salmon. Dinner offers a short menu of bowls and composed salads, honest but lacking depth, we prefer the neighbourhood tables (Kødbyens Fiskebar 800 metres away). The fresh juice bar operates until 18h. Room service limited to snacks and cheese platters.
