A Madrilenian Relais & Châteaux banking on service and discretion, far from the showiness of Castellana palaces.

“9.4/10 score on over a thousand reviews, placing the Heritage in the top 3 of Madrid 5★ for service consistency.”
The Relais & Châteaux Heritage Hotel occupies a building on Diego de León, Salamanca district, a stone's throw from the plaza de toros de Las Ventas. We tested a street-facing room: thick carpet, upholstered taupe velvet headboards, white marble bathroom with double sink. The atmosphere is hushed, almost confidential, without the glitz of Gran Vía addresses. The restaurant serves contemporary Mediterranean cuisine, short menu renewed each season. From 519 € per night, a coherent rate for a Relais & Châteaux in a European capital. The service is attentive without being intrusive, we sense the in-house training. An address for travellers who prioritise execution quality over the Instagram effect ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Heritage to fortysomething couples and above, business travellers fleeing international chains, gastronomy enthusiasts wanting a proper hotel restaurant. It's an address for those who already know Madrid and seek a comfortable base in Salamanca, not for a first tourist stay. Families find their place thanks to adapted rooms, but the clientele remains mostly adult and cosmopolitan.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The building is typical of the Salamanca district: limestone facade, wrought-iron balconies, ceiling height of about 3.20 m. Contemporary interiors respecting the classical framework: preserved mouldings, solid oak parquet in communal areas, bespoke furniture by Spanish workshops. The scale remains intimate, we guess a maximum of fifty rooms. No trace of gilding or oversized chandeliers, the choice is for understated elegance.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The Heritage restaurant offers a contemporary Mediterranean menu, seasonal produce, careful execution without starred pretensions. Breakfast served until 11.30am, buffet and à la carte formula, house pastries and Iberian charcuterie. 24/7 room service, simplified menu after midnight. No signature bar, but a lounge with fireplace where cocktails and Spanish wines are served until 1am.
