The Glen Boutique Hotel & Spa occupies a 1920 villa in Sea Point, two streets from the promenade and the rocks where the ocean crashes. We sleep in rooms in white and linen tones, polished parquet, grey marble bathrooms, bay windows framing the mountain or the Atlantic depending on the floor. The spa offers massages and treatments in a hushed atmosphere, heated rooftop pool with teak loungers and clear views over Lion's Head. The service is attentive without being intrusive, the team knows the best spots in Camps Bay and the tables on Kloof Street. From 148 € per night, a rare value for money for a 5★ in Cape Town with private spa. We recommend for a wellness stay without leaving the city ✨

Who is it for?

Who we recommend it to

We recommend The Glen to couples in their thirties and forties looking for a spa pied-à-terre without the bustle of V&A Waterfront. It is an address for those who want to alternate hikes on Signal Hill, late-afternoon massages and dinners in Camps Bay. Business travellers appreciate the residential calm of Sea Point and the reliable Wi-Fi connection.

The building

Architecture and interiors

1920 Edwardian villa renovated into a boutique hotel, white columned façade, tropical garden at the entrance. Contemporary interiors with oak parquet, white walls, custom light-wood and linen furniture. Intimate scale, around fifteen rooms spread over three levels, three-metre ceilings in the suites. The spa occupies the garden level, the pool the top floor with a teak terrace.

At the table

Restaurants, bar, service

On-site restaurant for breakfast (continental buffet and hot dishes à la carte) and dinner by reservation, contemporary South African cuisine with local produce. Room service available until 22h, reduced but well-executed menu. No formal bar, but a lounge with honesty bar and selection of Cape wines. We advise dining out on Kloof Street or in Camps Bay, ten minutes by car.

Highlights

  • Heated rooftop pool with panoramic views over Lion's Head and the ocean
  • Spa with treatment cabins, sauna and hammam, South African products
  • 300 metres from the Sea Point promenade and natural pools
  • Airport shuttle included, 25 minutes to Cape Town International

Location & access

Where the hotel sits in Cape Town

The Glen stands in Sea Point, a residential seafront neighbourhood between Cape Town centre and Camps Bay. The pedestrian promenade runs along the ocean for three kilometres, natural pools and jogging spots popular with locals. V&A Waterfront fifteen minutes by car, Table Mountain twenty. Lively neighbourhood with cafés, fine grocers and restaurants on Regent Road, quiet after 21h. No metro in Cape Town, but Uber works well and the hotel offers a free airport shuttle.
