We recommend Future Found to couples in their thirties and forties seeking design and nature, far from the bustle of Camps Bay. It is an address for those who rent a car and wish to radiate towards Chapman's Peak, Constantia or the Cape of Good Hope. Families are accepted, but the intimate scale and the spa clearly orient towards adults.

Contemporary villa built in the 2010s, pared-back South African architecture with wide roof overhangs and teak terraces. Interiors signed by a local studio: polished concrete floors, Scandinavian furniture, contemporary African artworks. The 10 rooms occupy two levels, all with bay windows and open views. Residential scale, no monumental lobby, rather a library lounge with fireplace and honesty bar.

No gastronomic restaurant on site, but breakfast included served on the terrace or in the room, local produce and freshly pressed juices. Room service offers light plates at midday and evening, prepared by a resident chef. For dinners, we head down to Hout Bay (10 minutes) or dash to Constantia (20 minutes) where the best tables of the Cape are concentrated. The hotel organises braai barbecues on request, a convivial and typically South African formula.

Future Found stands on the heights of Hout Bay, a residential district southwest of Cape Town, between ocean and mountain. 20 minutes by car from the V&A Waterfront, 15 minutes from Camps Bay, 10 minutes from Hout Bay harbour where boats depart for Seal Island. Chapman's Peak Drive, one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world, starts 5 minutes away. Quiet, green neighbourhood, favoured by Cape Town's affluent families, almost no shops within walking distance (car essential).
