Architecture and interiors

Contemporary two-storey villa built in the 2000s, renovated in 2018. Minimalist white architecture, large picture windows, flat roofs, tiered terraces facing the ocean. Clean interiors: light limestone floors, bespoke light-wood furniture, linen and cotton textiles. Ten rooms spread over two levels, 28 to 45 m², all with frontal Atlantic views.

In-house restaurant with a short menu: line-caught fish of the day, Hout Bay crayfish, Karoo meats, Cape wines. Breakfast served on the terrace or in-room: fresh fruit, smoothies, eggs to order, house pastries. Cocktail bar open until 11pm, selection of South African gins (Inverroche, Musgrave, Hope). 24-hour room service, yet for larger tables (La Colombe, The Pot Luck Club) a car is needed towards Constantia or Woodstock.

Where the hotel sits in Cape Town

The Cole stands on Church Road, a residential artery between Camps Bay and Clifton, on the mountainside. The four Clifton beaches (cold waters, white sand, granite rocks) are two minutes' walk away, Camps Bay and its restaurants five minutes by car. Table Mountain 15 minutes, Waterfront 20, international airport 35 minutes via the N2. The neighbourhood is ultra-chic, quiet after 6pm, frequented by Cape Town's jet-set and wealthy expats.
