“Pool in the colonnaded inner courtyard, surrounded by 18th-century Shekhawati frescoes.”
Samode Haveli occupies a Rajput residence from 1747 in the Gangapole district, away from the tourist bustle without being isolated. The rooms overlook arcaded courtyards, Makrana marble floors, hand-painted ceilings, sheesham wood furniture. We slept in a suite with mirrored alcove, efficient air conditioning, bathroom in local stone. The central pool is surrounded by restored frescoes, open all year, lit in the evening by copper lanterns. The spa offers Ayurvedic massages and rose milk treatments, vaulted cabins, hushed atmosphere. From 165 € the night, a rare value for money for a historic palace of this level ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend Samode Haveli to travellers seeking Rajput authenticity without sacrificing modern comfort, couples on cultural trips, fans of Mughal architecture. It is an address for those who want to sleep in a historic monument while staying close to the sites, without the hustle of chain hotels. Families appreciate the space of the suites and the pool, but the atmosphere remains calm, conducive to romantic stays.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Samode Haveli is an aristocratic residence from 1747, built for the nobles of Samode as an urban residence in Jaipur. Typical Rajput architecture: inner courtyards with colonnades, pointed arches, sculpted sandstone jalis. Shekhawati frescoes restored in the 1990s, depicting hunting scenes and floral motifs. The 120 rooms occupy three wings around the courtyards, ceiling height between 3.5 and 4.5 metres, white and red marble floors.
