Dileep Kothi occupies a Rajput residence from the early 20th century, transformed into a nine-suite boutique hotel. We sleep in high-ceilinged rooms, whitewashed walls, carved wooden furniture, block-print textiles from Rajasthan. The Dhuleshwar garden isolates from the traffic on Sardar Patel Marg, we take breakfast there under the frangipani trees. The restaurant serves classic Indian cuisine, correct without being memorable. Rates from 98 € per night, a rare value for money for a five-star in Jaipur. The service is attentive, the management knows its regulars. We recommend for the intimacy and the location, a ten-minute walk from the Johari bazaar ✨

Who is it for?

Who we recommend it to

We recommend Dileep Kothi to couples seeking an intimate address, far from the impersonal grand palaces of Jaipur. It is a hotel for travellers who prioritise architectural authenticity and calm, ready to forgo the spa and XXL facilities. Families will appreciate the spacious rooms and the secure garden, but the scale remains that of a manor house, not a resort.

The building

Architecture and interiors

The building dates from the early 20th century, built for a family of Rajput merchants. Typical Jaipur architecture: pink sandstone facade, pointed arches, sculpted jharokhas (overhanging balconies). Interiors restored in 2018, Makrana marble floors, painted coffered ceilings, mural frescoes in the main salon. The nine suites occupy two floors, all different, between 35 and 55 m² with terraces of 10 to 20 m².

At the table

Restaurants, bar, service

The Dileep restaurant offers a classic north Indian menu, Rajasthani thalis, tandoor grills, a few continental dishes for regulars. Continental or Indian breakfast served in the garden or in-room, eggs to order, homemade parathas. No dedicated bar, but cocktail and wine service in the salon or on the terrace. The cooking is honest, without gastronomic pretension, sufficient for an on-site dinner after a day of sightseeing.

Location & access

Where the hotel sits in Jaipur

Dileep Kothi stands in the C-Scheme district, between the old town and the southern residential neighbourhoods. City Palace a ten-minute walk away, Hawa Mahal fifteen, Jantar Mantar twelve. The Dhuleshwar garden borders the property, a rare green island in this dense area. Sardar Patel Marg is a busy artery, but double glazing and the building's setback isolate from noise. Jaipur international airport thirty-five minutes by car, central station 4 km away.
