A 2018 Mughal palace that plays the Rajput authenticity card without falling into folklore.

“Pool surrounded by pink sandstone pavilions, lit at night by hammered copper lanterns.”
L'Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur occupies a four-hectare estate on Tonk Road, fifteen minutes from the historic centre. The rooms blend white Makrana marble, carved sheesham wood, Rajasthan block-print textiles, bathrooms in Jaisalmer stone. We tested the spa: correct Ayurvedic treatments, spacious cabins, trained staff but without any particular surprise. The restaurant serves honest regional Indian cuisine, with a tandoor visible from the dining room. From 112 € per night, it is one of the most accessible addresses in the palace segment in Jaipur. The service remains attentive without being intrusive, ideal for a first stay in North India. The pool, surrounded by Mughal gardens, alone justifies the stop ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the address to couples on honeymoon who want an Indian palace without paying 400 € per night, and to families with children (connecting rooms, secure pool). It is also a comfortable base for travellers covering the Golden Triangle Delhi-Agra-Jaipur and seeking real rest between stops. Regular visitors to Rajasthan will find the décor a touch new, yet the welcome and value for money compensate.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The building dates from 2018, built in the style of 18th-century Rajput palaces. Façades in pink Dholpur sandstone, pointed arches, jalis (carved stone screens), inner courtyards with pools and bougainvillea. Interiors by a Delhi firm: mural frescoes inspired by Mughal miniatures, brass chandeliers, solid-wood furniture inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Rooms range from 42 to 85 m², all with balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The Ananta restaurant offers a buffet breakfast (continental and Indian), à-la-carte lunch and dinner. Revisited Rajasthani cuisine: laal maas (lamb with chillies), dal baati churma, tandoor grills visible from the dining room. The chef, trained at the Oberoi Udaivilas, keeps a short but well-executed menu. Cocktail bar open until midnight, list of Indian whiskies (Amrut, Paul John). 24-hour room service, reduced menu after 23h.
