The St. Regis set its stilts on a private motu in 2006, and remains the most expensive palace in Polynesia.

“Overwater villas with glass floor in the bedroom, direct view of stingrays and blacktip reef sharks.”
The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort occupies motu Ome'e, accessible only by boat from the airport (private shuttle included). We sleep in overwater villas or beachfront, all with private pool, glass floor above the lagoon, teak furniture and white linen. The 24/7 butler service is included, efficient without being intrusive. Two infinity pools facing Mount Otemanu, Miri Miri by Clarins spa in a garden of vanilla and tiare, gourmet restaurant Lagoon (French-Polynesian cuisine). The Booking rating of 9/10 based on 55 reviews reflects the consistency of the service, but the rate from 3 201 € per night places this hotel out of reach for the majority of travellers. We recommend it for a honeymoon or major birthday, not for a ten-night stay ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the St. Regis to couples on honeymoon or celebrating a milestone anniversary who seek total seclusion with palace service, and who have the budget (allow 25 000 € per week for two, flights and meals included). It is a hotel for travellers who favour American comfort (powerful air conditioning, king-size bedding, butler) over Polynesian authenticity. Families with children are welcome, yet the clientele remains predominantly adult, forty-plus.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The resort opened in 2006 on a private 44-acre motu, designed by WATG in a contemporary tropical style. Villas in teak wood and lava stone, pandanus-thatched roofs, white and beige interiors with lagoon-blue accents. Overwater villas measure between 100 and 150 m², beach villas between 120 and 300 m². Ceiling height of 3.5 metres, sliding glass doors on three sides.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Restaurant Lagoon offers a French-Polynesian fusion menu (raw fish in coconut milk, roasted mahi-mahi, grilled lobster), service on the overwater terrace. Bar Te Pahu serves cocktails and sushi in the late afternoon, with views of the sunset behind Raiatea. Continental or American breakfast served in-room or at the restaurant, included in some packages. Room service operates 24/7, full menu available.
