“Overwater bungalows with glass floors for watching stingrays from bed, direct access to the turquoise lagoon.”
Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts occupies the motu Tevairoa, facing the volcanic silhouette of Otemanu that shifts colour with the light. We sleep in overwater bungalows crafted from teak, glass floor at the foot of the bed, private terrace with steps plunging into a 28°C lagoon alive with rays and parrotfish. The spa offers treatments with monoï and Tahitian vanilla, infinity pool facing the reef. The white-sand beach is reached by shuttle from Motu Mute airport, transfer included from 2 055 € a night. The restaurant serves raw fish in coconut milk and grilled mahi-mahi, toes in the sand or in air-conditioned comfort. Service is attentive yet discreet, the team fluent in French and English. An address for honeymoons and anniversaries, less ostentatious than the neighbouring Four Seasons ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend Le Bora Bora to couples seeking a honeymoon or anniversary in Polynesian intimacy without the showy grandeur of neighbouring palaces. Families with children find their place thanks to family rooms and the gently sloping beach. The clientele is mainly French and Japanese, aged 30 to 60, here for a week of total disconnection.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The resort stretches across motu Tevairoa, a private 16-hectare coral islet planted with coconut palms and pandanus. Contemporary Polynesian architecture: teak overwater bungalows, braided pandanus roofs, wide sliding glass bays. Interiors blend dark-wood furniture, raw-linen fabrics, lava-stone bathrooms with outdoor showers. Human scale: 80 units between beach and lagoon, generous spacing between each bungalow.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The main restaurant serves Franco-Polynesian cuisine: raw fish marinated in coconut milk, yellowfin tuna tataki, grilled lobster with vanilla butter. Breakfast buffet with tropical fruit, pastries flown in from Papeete, omelettes to order. The pool bar offers agricole-rum cocktails and freshly pressed fruit juices. Room service available until 22h, simplified yet effective menu.
