The SLS lands in Puerto Madero with its maximalist design signed by Philippe Starck and a clientele drawn as much to the rooftop as to the room.

“Rooftop pool with panoramic view over the rehabilitated docks and the Río de la Plata, open until 22h.”
SLS Buenos Aires Puerto Madero occupies a glass tower in the district of former port warehouses converted into a hype zone. We recognise Starck's touch from the lobby: golden mirrors, emerald velvet armchairs, oversized light fixtures that flirt with assumed kitsch. The rooms play the contrast card, immaculate white walls against anthracite upholstered headboards, black veined marble bathrooms. The rooftop pool attracts as many guests as trendy Porteños, especially at sunset when the red brick facades blaze. The spa offers hot stone massages and signature treatments, nothing revolutionary but the execution is refined. From 241 € a night, we pay as much for the address as for the design statement ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the SLS to travellers seeking a design pied-à-terre in the most contemporary district of Buenos Aires, between meetings in Puerto Madero and dinners in Palermo. It is a hotel for thirty- and forty-somethings who favour Instagram aesthetics and the social scene of the rooftop, less so for those wanting the historic charm of Recoleta. Couples on a city break find their account here, as does business clientele thanks to the proximity of the office towers.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The SLS Buenos Aires occupies a contemporary tower of glass and steel in dock 3 of Puerto Madero, a district rehabilitated in the 1990s. Interiors signed by Philippe Starck in 2018, pushing the cursor of modern baroque with its mirror games, exaggerated proportions and surreal winks. Generous ceiling heights, floor-to-ceiling bay windows in the superior rooms. The ensemble counts 123 rooms spread over 12 floors, the rooftop capping the building with its suspended pool.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The restaurant Alma proposes a Mediterranean-Argentine fusion menu, beef carpaccios with capers, risottos with seafood from the Río, charcoal grillades. The rooftop bar serves signature cocktails and tapas until midnight, DJ set atmosphere at weekends. Continental buffet breakfast with made-to-order egg station, pressed juices, Argentine facturas. 24-hour room service, reduced but efficient menu for late returns from Palermo.

Location & access
Where the hotel sits in Buenos Aires
The SLS stands on Juana Manso, main artery of Puerto Madero, the district of docks converted into restaurants, offices and high-end residences. Reserva ecológica Costanera Sur fifteen minutes on foot, Casa Rosada and Plaza de Mayo twenty minutes by taxi. Leandro N. Alem metro station (line B) ten minutes' walk, Ezeiza airport 45 minutes depending on traffic.
