The French palace that conquered Recoleta, between secret garden and old-fashioned service.
Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires

“Rooftop pool with views over the jacarandas of Avenida Libertador, open all year.”
The Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires occupies two buildings facing each other in Recoleta, the district of embassies and antique dealers. On one side the 13-storey tower in smoked glass, on the other the Mansión, a Belle Époque residence from 1916 with four-metre ceilings. We slept in the tower: Carrara marble in the bathrooms, Duxiana bedding, bay windows opening onto the rooftops of Buenos Aires. The 650 m² spa offers treatments with Andean volcanic stone, the heated rooftop pool remains usable even in the southern July. The service remains that of a European palace transplanted to South America, attentive without being intrusive. From 670 € a night, it is the Argentine palace rate, justified by its consistency. We recommend it for a first stay in Buenos Aires, when you want to drop your bags without thinking ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Four Seasons to travellers discovering Buenos Aires who want a reliable base, without surprises. It is a hotel for couples in their forties and fifties, high-end business trips, families with teenagers (the rooftop pool reaches consensus). The clientele is international, mainly American and European, with a handful of Argentines for the Sunday brunches.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Four Seasons Buenos Aires unfolds across two properties. The Mansión, on the Posadas side, dates from 1916: French stone façade, bay windows, Art Nouveau ironwork. The tower, built in the 1990s, adopts a sober contemporary style, glass and grey granite. The interiors of the Mansión blend original wood panelling and Biedermeier furniture, while those of the tower favour light marble and beige tones. The rooms range from 38 to 280 m² for the presidential suite.

Restaurants, bar, service
The restaurant Elena occupies the ground floor of the Mansión, beneath an Art Nouveau glass roof. Contemporary Argentine cuisine: 45-day matured bife de chorizo, lamb empanadas, grilled provoleta. Chef Joaquín Gutiérrez works with producers from Mendoza and Patagonia. The Pony Line Bar serves cocktails based on Argentine gin and fernet, hushed atmosphere until midnight. Breakfast buffet served in the garden when the weather permits, with warm medialunas and house dulce de leche.
