Cotton mansion converted into an intimate palace of 10 suites, between Recoleta and Palermo.

“Rooftop pool with cocktail bar, open until midnight in summer.”
L'Algodon Mansion occupies a 1912 residence that belonged to an Argentine cotton baron, restored in 2011 with only ten suites. We climb the Carrara marble staircase, we cross salons with original mouldings, we discover high-ceilinged rooms with oak parquet and vintage furniture. The rooftop pool offers a clear view over the roofs of Recoleta, the bar serves negronis with Fernet until midnight. The service is attentive without being stiff, we feel at home with a wealthy friend rather than in a classic palace. From 345 € per night, it is an address for those seeking the intimacy of a house rather than the machinery of a large hotel. We book for the human scale and the preserved period charm ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend L'Algodon to couples who avoid large hotels and seek a discreet address, far from the Palacio Duhau or Alvear circuit. It is a house for travellers who love Belle Époque architecture, late dinners with Argentine wine, uncrowded rooftops. Families find their place thanks to the spacious suites, yet the atmosphere remains intimate, almost residential.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The mansion dates from 1912, commissioned by a cotton magnate who wished to imitate Parisian private hotels. Neoclassical three-storey facade, central Carrara marble staircase, 4-metre ceilings, oak panelling in the salons. The 2011 renovation preserved the mouldings, marble fireplaces and original stained glass. Only ten suites, between 35 and 80 m², all different, some with private terrace.

Restaurants, bar, service
The restaurant occupies the former reception salon, service until 23h to follow the porteño rhythm. Short menu focused on Argentine meats and seasonal vegetables, cellar of 200 local references. Breakfast is taken in the inner courtyard or in the room, with homemade medialunas and coffee roasted in Buenos Aires. The rooftop bar serves cocktails and boards until midnight in summer, closes at 22h in winter.
