The Hyatt that grasped that American luxury could be quiet.
Park Hyatt Chicago

“Indoor pool on the 7th floor with windows overlooking Water Tower, open 24/7.”
The Park Hyatt Chicago occupies the 7th to 67th floor of a glass tower on Michigan Avenue, facing Water Tower Place. We slept on the 42nd: floor-to-ceiling windows, clear views over Lake Michigan, Mies van der Rohe furniture, black granite bathrooms with deep bathtub. The NoMI spa offers Biologique Recherche treatments, the indoor pool stays calm even in the middle of the day, the Technogym fitness centre runs 24/7. Service is discreet, efficient, never obsequious, a welcome change from European palaces. Clientele of senior executives and couples in their forties who prefer comfort over show. From 477 € a night, it delivers strong value for a 5★ on Magnificent Mile ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Park Hyatt to business travellers who want to unwind after meetings and to couples seeking a design weekend without folklore. It suits those in their forties and beyond, lovers of modern architecture, regular Hyatt guests who know what they seek: silence, efficiency, views. Families find their place thanks to the spacious rooms, yet the atmosphere remains resolutely adult.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Park Hyatt occupies the upper floors of a 67-storey tower by Lucien Lagrange, opened in 2000. Minimalist interiors by Yabu Pushelberg: Carrara marble, walnut wood, tanned leather, grey-taupe palette. Lobby on the 7th floor with double-height ceilings, works of contemporary American art. Rooms from 46 to 280 m², all with separate seating area and dressing room.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
NoMI Kitchen serves contemporary American cuisine with Japanese influences, views of Water Tower from the glass-walled dining room. Breakfast buffet or à la carte, Sunday brunch much loved by Chicagoans. NoMI Lounge offers cocktails and tapas until midnight, hushed atmosphere, local clientele. 24/7 room service, reduced menu but well executed.
