The Park Hyatt occupies the upper floors of a 67-storey tower by Lucien Lagrange, opened in 2000. Minimalist interiors by Yabu Pushelberg: Carrara marble, walnut wood, tanned leather, grey-taupe palette. Lobby on the 7th floor with double-height ceilings, works of contemporary American art. Rooms from 46 to 280 m², all with separate seating area and dressing room.

NoMI Kitchen serves contemporary American cuisine with Japanese influences, views of Water Tower from the glass-walled dining room. Breakfast buffet or à la carte, Sunday brunch much loved by Chicagoans. NoMI Lounge offers cocktails and tapas until midnight, hushed atmosphere, local clientele. 24/7 room service, reduced menu but well executed.

The Park Hyatt stands on North Michigan Avenue, in the heart of the Magnificent Mile, between Water Tower Place and the John Hancock Center. Luxury boutiques (Gucci, Prada, Tiffany) less than five minutes on foot, Navy Pier twenty minutes by taxi. Chicago metro station (red line) three blocks away, O'Hare 40 minutes by car outside rush hour. The neighbourhood stays lively until 10pm, then quietens, very safe even at night.
