The Kempinski plants a classic European palace at the foot of the Burj Khalifa, for those who want Dubai without giving up old-school service.

“Pool on the 6th floor with direct view of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain, open until 10pm.”
Kempinski Central Avenue Dubai lines Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Boulevard, 300 metres from the Burj Khalifa, and bets on European service rather than local bling. The rooms play the classic card: dark wood panelling, beige marble, king-size beds with Frette linen, natural stone bathrooms. We slept on the 12th floor, fountain view, effective double glazing despite the traffic below. The spa covers 1 200 m² with Turkish hammam and Kempinski Spa treatment cabins. From 274 € a night, it's one of the best value-for-money options in Downtown. The outdoor pool remains the real asset: teak sun loungers, towel service, swim-up bar, unobstructed skyline view. A palace that owns its European DNA in a city that often lacks it ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Kempinski to European business travellers who want a tried-and-tested palace without design experiments, and to families seeking a comfortable base to explore Dubai without paying Armani or Address prices. It's also an address for fortysomething couples on a luxury city break, who prioritise location (Dubai Mall on foot, Burj Khalifa metro 400 m) and classic service over frills. Kempinski group regulars will find the house standards here: impeccable bedding, copious breakfast, multilingual staff.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Kempinski occupies a contemporary 34-storey tower on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Boulevard, opened in 2018. Glass-and-steel architecture by Atkins, classic interiors by Wilson Associates: light marbles, walnut panelling, crystal chandeliers in the lobby. The 168 rooms and suites range from 42 to 280 m², all with balcony, 3-metre ceilings. The style avoids Dubai maximalism for a European palace register: beige tones, bespoke furniture, Jura stone bathrooms.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Three tables at the Kempinski: Villamore for Italian cuisine (fresh pasta, Neapolitan pizza oven, transalpine wine list), Nara Pan-Asian for dim sum and sushi, and Mosaic for breakfast buffet (hot and cold, made-to-order eggs station, house pastries). Cielo Sky Lounge on the 27th floor serves cocktails and Lebanese mezze with 360° Downtown views. 24/7 room service, simplified menu after midnight. No signature chef, but careful execution and European-imported products.

Location & access
Where the hotel sits in Dubai
The Kempinski stands on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Boulevard, main artery of Downtown Dubai, 300 metres from the Burj Khalifa and 400 metres from Dubai Mall. Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall metro station 6 minutes on foot, international airport 20 minutes by taxi off-peak. The district is dense, vertical, highly touristy: Dubai Fountain, Souk Al Bahar, Opera District within walking distance. Urban vibe, heavy daytime traffic, relative calm after 11pm. Safe neighbourhood, well lit, suited to walking despite the heat.
