1950s Hilton Palace that holds the Bosphorus like a liner anchored facing Asia.
Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus
From
200.6 €
“Two pools (indoor and outdoor) with direct view over the strait, rare in the Harbiye district.”
The Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus occupies a modernist building from 1955, the first Hilton outside the United States, perched on the heights of Harbiye with a plunging view over the strait. We sleep in renovated rooms in neutral tones, light parquet, wide bay windows, bathrooms in grey marble. The two pools (one indoor, the other on the terrace) offer a rare angle on maritime traffic between Europe and Asia. The 1,200 m² spa offers traditional hammam and treatment cabins, frequented by local clientele at the weekend. The service remains professional, well-versed with business groups and families from the Gulf. From 200,60 € per night, we pay as much for the location as for the complete infrastructure. A Stambouliote classic that ages well ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Hilton Bosphorus to travellers seeking a reliable address without surprises, families with children (pools, connecting rooms) and executives on the move (meeting rooms, business lounge). It is a hotel for those who prioritise complete infrastructure (spa, parking, 24h room service) over boutique intimacy. Couples on a city break find their account here if the view over the strait takes precedence over the charm of a small historic palace.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The building dates from 1955, designed by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in a sober international style, concrete and glass façade, horizontal lines. Interiors renovated in 2018: lobby in white Marmara marble, contemporary chandeliers, Turkish furniture custom-designed. The rooms occupy 12 floors, standard ceiling height (2,60 m), panoramic windows on the Bosphorus side. The ensemble retains the scale of a business palace, 498 rooms in total, without boutique pretension.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Three tables at the Hilton Bosphorus: the Bosphorus Grill for Anatolian grills and fish from the strait, the Seasons Restaurant (international buffet at breakfast, Mediterranean cuisine in the evening), the Lobby Lounge for Turkish tea and pastries. The Bar 1955, open until 2am, serves classic cocktails and raki in a retro 1950s setting. 24h room service, full menu with halal and vegetarian options. Nothing gastronomic, but a solid offering for business clientele and families.
