“Two pools (heated indoor under historic arches, outdoor on the roof with view of the Blue Mosque), traditional hammam spa.”
AJWA Sultanahmet occupies a 19th-century mansion in the historic heart of Istanbul, a stone's throw from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. We enter through a white marble hall, sculpted columns, gilded coffered ceilings, light filtered by copper lanterns. The rooms blend dark woodwork, embroidered textiles, beige travertine bathrooms, some with views of the minarets. The indoor pool nestles under restored stone vaults, the outdoor one on the roof offers a direct panorama of the Blue Mosque. The spa offers Ottoman hammam, black soap scrub, argan oil massages. Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the AJWA to couples seeking historical immersion without sacrificing contemporary comfort, honeymoon trips, anniversaries, first discoveries of Istanbul. Lovers of Ottoman architecture and UNESCO heritage appreciate the location within walking distance of all monuments. Families find their place (family rooms available), yet the clientele remains predominantly adult, between 35 and 65 years old.
