The Turkish palace that understood that the Bosphorus is better viewed from a 2,000 m² terrace than from a marble lobby.
Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus
From
178.5 €
“Two outdoor pools facing the strait, open from April to October, with cocktail service until 22h.”
The Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus occupies a modern building in Beşiktaş, on the European shore, with direct views over the strait and the Asian coast. We tested a Deluxe room: 42 m², floor-to-ceiling glass bay, Turkish marble in the bathroom, firm king-size bed. The two outdoor pools (one heated, one not) alone justify the detour, especially at sunset when ferries pass 200 metres away. The Espa spa offers traditional hammam and treatment cabins facing the Bosphorus, we recommend the black soap scrub. The Booking score of 9.6/10 reflects the consistency of the service, rarely at fault even in high season. From 178,50 € per night, it is one of the best value-for-money among Istanbul's palaces ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Conrad to travellers seeking a modern palace without the sometimes stifling Ottoman pomp of the historic addresses in Sultanahmet. It is a hotel for couples in their thirties and older, romantic weekends with pool, extended business stays (the Beşiktaş district is residential and quiet). Families find their place thanks to family rooms and pet acceptance, yet the clientele remains predominantly adult.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Conrad occupies an eight-storey contemporary building constructed in 2015, glass and light concrete architecture signed Tabanlıoğlu Architects. International palace interiors: grey Turkish marble in the lobby, crystal chandeliers, bespoke furniture blending white lacquer and dark wood. Rooms range from 42 to 280 m², all with balcony or terrace, floor-to-ceiling glass bays. The scale remains human (620 rooms spread over eight levels), far from the tower blocks of neighbouring chains.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Three tables at the Conrad: Manzara for contemporary Turkish cuisine (terrace facing the Bosphorus, book at sunset), Summit Bar & Terrace on the eighth floor for cocktails and mezze, Lobby Lounge for the buffet breakfast (hot and cold, Turkish pastries, made-to-order egg station). Room service runs 24/7, full menu with grills and local dishes. No signature chef, yet careful execution and fresh produce, especially fish from the Kumkapı market.
