Ian Schrager signs his first hotel in Turkey, and it is a lesson in minimalist design facing the Aegean Sea.
The Bodrum EDITION
From
1,774.8 €
“Private 300-metre beach with Paola Lenti loungers and cocktail service until sunset.”
The Bodrum EDITION occupies a private cove in Dirmil, fifteen minutes from the city centre. We recognise Schrager's touch from the lobby: white volumes, polished concrete, Minotti furniture, natural light everywhere. The rooms play the Californian minimalism card, light stone floors, terrazzo bathrooms, sliding glass bays that open onto private terraces facing the sea. The 1 200 m² spa offers traditional Turkish hammam and treatment cabins with views over the Aegean. The 25-metre infinity pool runs along the beach, loungers under white linen parasols. From 1 775 € per night, that's the price of the signature design and the seafront location, rated 9,2/10 on 143 reviews. We would have liked more restaurants (only one on site), but the private beach and impeccable service make up for it ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend The Bodrum EDITION to travellers seeking contemporary design without Turkish folklore, who prioritise the private beach over the lively city centre. It is an address for thirty- and forty-something couples, discreet honeymoons, wellness retreats, a few families in summer (family rooms available). Nightlife enthusiasts will prefer a more central hotel, here one comes for calm and the sea.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The hotel opened in 2018, contemporary architecture signed Hirsch Bedner Associates: white volumes cascading down the hillside, roof terraces, floor-to-ceiling glass bays. Minimalist interiors: polished concrete, Bodrum stone, whitewashed wood, natural textiles. Human scale, 102 rooms spread over four levels, no tower or massive concrete. The ensemble dialogues with the landscape rather than imposing itself, private terraces for 80 % of the rooms.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Only one restaurant on site, Brava, Mediterranean cuisine with Turkish and Italian influences: grilled octopus, fresh pasta, locally caught fish. Breakfast is taken on the terrace facing the sea, continental buffet and à la carte (menemen, börek, fresh fruit). The Beach Club serves grills and salads until 18h, cocktails until 22h. 24-hour room service, reduced but well-executed menu. We regret the absence of a second gastronomic table, but Bodrum centre (fifteen minutes by car) offers numerous options.
