The concept hotel that made Chaweng Beach a design destination, blood-red pool and minimalist library facing the Gulf of Thailand.
The Library
From
325.603 €
“40-metre pool tiled in bright red mosaic, become one of the most photographed in Southeast Asia.”
The Library has held the northern part of Chaweng Beach since 2005, white architecture signed Tirawan Songsawat, radical black-white-red interiors. We sleep in rooms of 46 to 92 m² with lacquered walls, low Japanese-style beds, black terrazzo bathtubs, wall libraries filled with art books. The red pool remains the focal point, surrounded by white sun loungers and an impeccable lawn, from 326 € the night. The service is discreet, never intrusive, the atmosphere adult and calm. The private beach is correct, beige sand, shallow waters, not the most beautiful on the island but sufficient. We come here for the aesthetic stance, not for the classic tropical postcard ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend The Library to thirty-something and forty-something couples looking for a design statement rather than a classic family resort. It is an address for graphic honeymoons, creative retreats, Instagram weekends without children. Families with design-conscious teenagers find their account there, but the atmosphere remains resolutely adult and hushed.
The building
Architecture and interiors
White three-storey building constructed in 2005, cubic volumes aligned facing the sea, pared-back contemporary Thai architecture. Interiors conceived as an art gallery: polished concrete floors, black or white lacquered walls, custom dark wood and steel furniture. The central library gathers 3 000 art and design books, red walls, Le Corbusier armchairs. Fifty-six rooms and suites spread across three wings, all with terrace or balcony overlooking the gulf.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Le Page restaurant serves a Thai-Mediterranean menu facing the red pool, teak tables, service until 22:30. Continental and Asian breakfast served from 7h to 11h, correct without being memorable. The Drink Bar offers signature cocktails and wines by the glass, lounge atmosphere with DJ sets some evenings. Room service available 24/7, simplified menu after midnight.
