The Hyatt that gets Milan: hushed luxury between Duomo and Scala, without showiness.
Park Hyatt Milano
From
1,500 €
“Spa of 650 m² with Venetian mosaic pool and Turkish marble hammam, open until 10pm.”
The Park Hyatt Milano occupies a 1870 palace a hundred metres from the Duomo, in a cobbled street that taxis avoid. We enter through a hall in Vicenza stone, dimmed lighting, five-metre ceilings. The 106 rooms blend Milanese wood panelling and Minotti furniture, bathrooms in black Marquina marble, deep bathtubs. The spa descends over two levels, 18-metre pool, spacious treatment cabins, discreet staff. The Mio Bar serves decent Negronis until 1am, local clientele on Thursday evenings. From 1 500 € a night, we pay for the location and impeccable service, not the decor which remains understated. A palace for adults who work in Milan and want to sleep in the centre without the fuss ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Park Hyatt to business travellers chaining meetings between Brera and Montenapoleone, and to fortysomething couples who want the Duomo without the groups. It's a hotel for those who prefer a hushed bar to a noisy rooftop, a deep spa to an Instagrammable pool. Families find their place here (connecting rooms, 24h room service), but the clientele remains mostly adult and international.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The building dates from 1870, former bank headquarters converted in 2003 by architect Ed Tuttle. Neoclassical facade in Vicenza stone, tall windows, wrought-iron balconies. Contemporary interiors: black marble, dark wood, indirect lighting, bespoke Minotti furniture. The rooms occupy three floors, ceiling heights between 3.20 and 4 metres, solid oak parquet. The whole remains understated, almost austere, far from Milanese baroque.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The Mio restaurant offers reinterpreted Lombard cuisine, saffron risotto, osso buco, short menu that changes every three months. Breakfast served until 11.30am, continental buffet and hot menu, juices pressed to order. The Mio Bar occupies an adjacent lounge, classic cocktails, Japanese whiskies list, hushed vibe after 7pm. 24h room service, full menu, delivery in 25 minutes flat.
