The Four Seasons Hotel Milano occupies a 1470 monastery a stone’s throw from via Montenapoleone, and we quickly understand why the fashion crowd checks in here during Fashion Weeks. The rooms overlook the cloister or inner courtyard, restored frescoes on the ceiling, Carrara marble in the bathrooms, Minotti furniture. The spa occupies the former monastic cells, pool under a glass roof in what was the refectory. The Veranda serves revisited Lombard cuisine, terrace under wisteria from April. The service remains impeccable, discreet, honed to the demands of the international clientele. From 1 930 € per night, a rate that climbs quickly during trade shows. We recommend it for the location and the history of the place ✨

Who is it for?

Who we recommend it to

We recommend the Four Seasons to travellers who mix business and culture, Fashion Week and vernissages at the Triennale. It’s a hotel for fortysomething couples and older, fans of reinterpreted historic architecture, Quadrilatère shopping, discreet dinners. Families find their place here (connecting rooms, pets accepted), but the clientele remains mostly luxury business and fashion.

The building

Architecture and interiors

The building occupies a Franciscan convent founded in 1470, restructured as a hotel in 1993. Lombard Renaissance architecture, arcaded cloister, 16th-century frescoes restored in the public areas. Pierre-Yves Rochon contemporary interiors: pale marble, walnut panelling, Rubelli fabrics, 4-metre ceilings in the historic suites. 118 rooms distributed between the monastic wing and the 2000s extension.

At the table

Restaurants, bar, service

The Veranda serves contemporary Italian cuisine under a glass roof overlooking the cloister, buffet breakfast until 11am, à la carte lunch and dinner. The Foyer Bar offers cocktails and aperitifs in the frescoed salon, pianist some evenings. 24/7 room service, full menu available in-room. No starred table, but meticulous execution and a popular terrace from the first fine days.
