Maslina Resort
From
1,200.885 €
“Private pebble beach in a closed cove, accessible only by the resort or by boat.”
Maslina Resort occupies a sheltered cove in the south-west of Hvar, far from the port and the summer crowd. We sleep in low pavilions in local stone and raw concrete, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the pine forest or the sea. The rooms smell of cedar wood, polished terrazzo floors, grey marble bathrooms. Two infinity pools (one heated), 1 200 m² spa with hammam and outdoor cabins. The service is discreet, efficient, never obsequious. From 1 201 € the night, we pay for the tranquillity and direct access to the water ✨. Only downside: the Wi-Fi can weaken in the most distant pavilions.
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend Maslina to couples in their thirties and older looking for a design retreat away from the hustle of Hvar-town. It is an address for late honeymoons, wedding anniversaries, weeks of disconnection with yoga and massages. Families with children over 10 years old find their place here (pool, supervised beach), but the atmosphere remains resolutely adult and quiet.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The resort dates from 2019, designed by Croatian architect Goran Rako. Ensemble of low pavilions (one or two storeys maximum) in Brač stone and raw concrete, flat green roofs. Purified interiors: terrazzo on the floor, cedar woodwork, bespoke furniture in bleached oak. The 50 rooms and suites (from 35 to 120 m²) are staggered through the pine forest, linked by white gravel paths. No view is obstructed, each terrace overlooks the sea or the pines.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The Pharomatiq restaurant serves contemporary Mediterranean cuisine: grilled Adriatic fish, vegetables from the resort garden, Hvar olive oil. Continental breakfast served until 11am, short menu in the evening (six starters, six mains). The Maslina bar offers cocktails and Croatian wines on a teak terrace facing the sunset. Room service available 24/7, simplified menu after 10pm.
