The Ritz-Carlton occupies floors 102 to 118 of the ICC, world’s highest hotel until 2011.
The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong
From
411.447 €
“Pool on the 116th floor with floor-to-ceiling windows over Victoria Harbour, open until 10pm.”
The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong occupies the top floors of the ICC tower, 490 metres above Kowloon. We head to the 103rd for the lobby, grey marble, cathedral ceiling, plunging views over the harbour. Rooms start on the 102nd, floor-to-ceiling windows, lacquered contemporary furniture, black granite bathrooms. The pool on the 116th remains the highlight, 25-metre basin facing Central’s skyscrapers. The Espa spa occupies 930 m² two floors higher, nine cabins including a double suite with private terrace. From 411 € a night, rates that climb fast in peak season (Chinese New Year, Golden Week). We recommend for the views, not for intimacy: 312 rooms, business crowd weekdays, tourists at weekends ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Ritz-Carlton to travellers seeking views above all, business on layover or couples for whom the altitude justifies the rate. It’s a hotel for international executives weekdays, affluent tourists at weekends, a few Hong Kong families for Sunday brunch. Fans of intimate hotels will pass: the scale is that of a grand vertical palace, slick but impersonal service at peak times.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The International Commerce Centre completed in 2010 tops out at 484 metres, 118 floors, world’s fourth-highest tower at the time. The Ritz-Carlton occupies the top 17 levels, lobby on the 103rd reached by express lift in 60 seconds. Interiors by Kohn Pedersen Fox and LTW Designworks: Emperador marble, wengé wood, Lasvit chandeliers in hand-blown Czech glass. Rooms measure 50 m² minimum, 2.80 m ceilings, non-opening floor-to-ceiling windows.
