“Rolls-Royce Phantom fleet in bottle green for transfers, the world's largest hotel collection.”
The Peninsula Hong Kong has occupied the same colonial building for nearly a century, facing Victoria Harbour. We sleep in rooms where marble, lacquered woodwork and touch screens coexist without a false note, between 45 and 90 m² depending on the categories. The rooftop pool offers a 270° view over Kowloon and the island, open until 22h. The 1,400 m² spa offers treatments over two floors, with cabins overlooking the interior garden. Service remains impeccable, discreet, never obsequious. From 479 € a night, we understand why the clientele returns for three generations. The Peninsula remains the absolute reference in Hong Kong, the one that justifies the detour ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Peninsula to travellers seeking classic luxury without ostentation, that of old Asian fortunes and Palace circuit regulars. It's an address for couples in their fifties and over, business lunches, afternoon teas, black-tie dinners. Families find their place here (connecting rooms, pool), but the clientele remains predominantly adult and international.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Peninsula Hong Kong occupies a 1928 colonial building on Salisbury Road, facing the harbour. British neoclassical architecture with Portland stone facade, 8-metre-high ceiling lobby, Corinthian columns. Complete renovation in 2013 which added a 30-storey tower while preserving the historic wing. Interiors blending Carrara marble, Chinese lacquered woodwork, patinated bronze and invisible technology (control tablets in every room). 300 rooms and suites from 45 to 700 m², all with harbour or city views.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Eight tables and bars at the Peninsula, from Gaddi's (gastronomic French cuisine, strict dress code) to Felix on the 28th floor (Philippe Starck design, fusion cuisine). Spring Moon serves classic Cantonese cuisine, Chesa offers Swiss specialities. The Lobby Tea remains an institution in Hong Kong, served from 2pm to 6pm with live orchestra, book two weeks in advance. The Felix bar serves cocktails with 360° harbour views, open until 2am.
