Luxury Dana Beach Resort & Spa

We recommend the Dana to families who want to combine beach and cultural visits without multiplying hotels. Thirtysomething couples find good value for a seaside week, far from the bustle of Da Nang. The clientele is mainly European and Australian, relaxed atmosphere, flip-flops tolerated at the restaurant.

The resort stretches over three hectares of tropical gardens planted with coconut trees and frangipani. Low architecture in contemporary Vietnamese style, brown tiled roofs, white facades with wooden shutters. Villas arranged in small two-storey blocks, paths paved with volcanic stone. Reception open onto koi carp pond, air-conditioned lobby with revisited colonial furniture.

The main restaurant serves international buffets at breakfast (pho, dim sum, egg station) and Asian-Mediterranean fusion menu in the evening. We tested cao lau and fresh spring rolls, correct without being memorable. Beach bar open until 22h, cocktails based on local rum, freshly pressed fruit juices. Room service available 24/7, reduced menu after midnight.

The resort stands at Ngu Hanh Son, seaside neighbourhood between Da Nang airport (20 min) and Hoi An (15 min). Truong Sa beach less frequented than My Khe or An Bang, a few local seafood restaurants 500 metres away. The Marble Mountains are ten minutes by taxi, Buddhist caves and stone sculpture workshops. The neighbourhood stays quiet after 20h, little nightlife in the immediate vicinity.
