L'Awaken Da Nang Hotel stands on Vo Nguyen Giap, the avenue that runs along My Khe beach, a half-hour drive from old Hoi An. We slept in a recent tower (around 2020), beige marble and lacquered wood finishes, spacious rooms with balcony facing the South China Sea. The spa occupies two floors, the rooftop pool offers a clear view over the bay and the marble mountains to the south. It is a practical base for exploring central Vietnam, not a destination address in itself. Travellers who favour historic charm will prefer to stay in old Hoi An.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The hotel occupies an 18-storey tower built in late 2019, standard contemporary architecture for the Vietnamese coast. Double-height lobby with grey marble floor, stained rattan furniture, a few touches of red lacquer. Rooms between 35 and 65 m², continuous balconies, floor-to-ceiling bay windows. The whole is new, clean, without particular architectural signature.

The main restaurant serves Vietnamese and international cuisine at the buffet morning and evening, à la carte at midday. Generous breakfast: pho, banh mi, tropical fruit, Western corner. The rooftop bar offers cocktails and tapas until 11 pm, bay view at sunset. 24-hour room service, reduced menu after midnight.
