We recommend the Safira Blu to couples on honeymoon or seeking total disconnection, far from the classic tourist circuit of Stone Town. The address also suits travellers who favour the intimacy of a small resort over the entertainment of a large complex. Families are accepted, yet the atmosphere remains resolutely adult and romantic.

The resort adopts traditional Swahili architecture: makuti thatched roofs, lime-washed walls, teak wood for floors and pergolas. The villas rise over a maximum of two levels, integrated into dense tropical vegetation (palm trees, frangipani, bougainvillea). Generous surfaces, between 60 and 120 m² depending on category, all with private terrace and sea view. The ensemble dates from less than five years ago, the finishes are refined without falling into pastiche.

The main restaurant serves Swahili-Mediterranean fusion cuisine: grilled catch of the day, seafood curries, risotto with Zanzibar saffron. The Safira Blu stands at Kissnakani, north of Nungwi, northern tip of Zanzibar. The beach is one of the island's finest, protected by a coral reef ideal for snorkelling. Nungwi village ten minutes by car, with its fish markets and craft shops. Zanzibar international airport one hour's drive, shuttle included. The area remains quiet, little built-up, with views of traditional dhows at sunset.
