“Spa with traditional hammam and heated indoor pool, open until 10pm.”
Le DOGE occupies a 1930s hôtel particulier in the Roches Noires district, 800 metres from the corniche. We cross a patio in blue and white zellige, then salons with carved wood panelling, coffered ceilings, Berber rugs. The ten rooms mix colonial furniture and Moroccan fabrics, some with private terraces overlooking the orange garden. The spa offers a tadelakt hammam, argan oil massages, a 12-metre indoor pool under a glass roof. From 163 € a night, it is one of the most affordable addresses in the Relais & Châteaux network. The service remains attentive without being stiff, we feel more like guests than clients. The intimate scale (10 rooms) guarantees rare tranquillity in Casablanca ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend Le DOGE to travellers seeking a discreet stopover in Casablanca, far from the business towers downtown. It suits couples on a long weekend, lovers of Moorish architecture, travellers who favour calm over urban buzz. The ten rooms exclude groups, the atmosphere stays residential.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The building dates from 1930, built for a Casablanca notable in the then-fashionable neo-Moorish style. White façade with moucharabiehs, wrought-iron gate, central patio with zellige fountain. Interiors restored in 2015: chiselled stucco, cedar woodwork, Carrara marble floors and handmade terracotta tiles. Volumes remain generous, ceiling height 3.80 metres in the salons.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The restaurant offers a revisited Moroccan menu, served in the dining room or under the garden pergola. Continental breakfast with house pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice, warm msemen. No signature chef, yet honest cooking that avoids tourist folklore traps. The cocktail bar stays open until midnight, with a list of Japanese whiskies and agricole rums.
