Hôtel & Spa Version Maquis Citadelle perches on the Padurella hill, five minutes from Ajaccio, in absolute silence. We slept in a suite where the bed faces the bay window, electric blinds, minimum 20 m² teak terrace. The architecture is contemporary without ostentation, polished concrete, light wood, white linen, a few leather touches. The spa occupies 800 m² with heated indoor pool, sea-view treatment cabins, sauna and hammam carved in stone. The overflow outdoor pool overlooks the gulf, Dedon sun loungers, discreet towel service. From 745 € a night, we pay for tranquillity and the view, not palace standing. The restaurant offers a revisited Corsican menu, local products, attentive service without being stiff ✨

Architecture and interiors

The building dates from the 2010s, contemporary Mediterranean architecture signed by an Ajaccio practice. Low volumes set in tiers on the hillside, flat green roofs, large sliding bay windows. Minimalist interiors: polished concrete floors, white walls, Italian design furniture (Flexform, B&B Italia), a few pieces of Corsican craftsmanship. Rooms measure between 35 and 65 m², all on one level or with lift, PMR accessible.

Breakfast buffet served on the terrace until 11am, Corsican charcuterie, farmhouse cheeses, house pastries.
